HudsonValleyNoah
well if you are spending 10k on a pair of amps then $495 to ship them from AU seems about the norm - LOL http://cgi.ebay.com/Luxman-MB-300b-Power-amp-valve-tube-vacuum_W0QQitemZ250548332363QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVintage_Electronics_R2?hash=item3a55d8274b#ht_7386wt_1167

artto
I've been looking for a set of these (a trio actually) for years. They were never exported to the U.S. A friend of mine in Japan said only two or three hundred of these were made (100-150 pairs), so yes, they are quite rare. Personally, I think the guy is asking way too much. I might make an offer which I'm quite sure the seller will probably refuse. But quite frankly, right now I'm really more interested in a 2A3 SET, like the Wright WPA 3.5 or Welbourne Moondogs for comparison with my Luxman MB3045. I'm not sure if the SET stuff may be too "tubey" sounding for me as per my recollection of years ago. The MB300 are gorgeous amps though. 99PanozAIV
Regarding Wright, are they still around? Their web site has been down for a couple weeks at least or I have the wrong URL.

seti
Regarding Wright, are they still around? Their web site has been down for a couple weeks at least or I have the wrong URL. Their URL changed http://www.wrightaudio.us/ I think they were referring to George Wrights website which they closed soon after his passing. George did not leave schematics for someone to continue his work. If they did it would be by reverse engineering his older products. Edit:Wright Audio? is not associated withWright Sound in Washington State.

Southern
Notice that the amp is rated for 100VAC not 120VAC (US/Canada standard voltage).
