fini
I'm wondering if I should touch up the paint on the trannies. It wouldn't take much work.
fini
And when I say "touch up the trannies" I don't mean this:
Moderators dtel Posted April 1, 2011 Moderators Share Posted April 1, 2011 [] WOW I think that model can run on AC or DC and be just as happy. I know almost nothing about tubes but considering there age those look to be in good shape . How many wpc is something like that ?
bkrop
Wow, tough crowd! Nice score! Look at that iron! How much does that weigh? 45 pounds? At least you aren't "unconsolable" anymore!
artarama
It is an ugly duckling! Really? I think it looks pretty good, after the first cosmetic cleaning... I've said it before, but I'll say it again. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I think that amp is a perfect example of the "function is form" concept. First order of business here is to sound good and be reliable. Look how tight, clean and consice everything fits together. No wasted space there. That amp says all business to me. No bells or whistles required.[Y]
seti
That is true but I love industrial art of ages past.
emmvette
FINI, that is awesome, but why does it have all the tall, cylindrical light bulbs?
mike stehr
You made it look like new. nice job! But it's still not aesthetically pleasing. Did you get the gold cage? Put it on quickly and cover up all the industrial doo-hickies! That'll go a long way toward making that amp less of an eyesore. I bet it sounds fantastic when restored to 100% though! Man, you are one tough customer! I think I'll make happy faces on the EL34s... Paint it titty pink, with lightning purple trannies. Nice score, by the way... I disagree - I think it is more important to accessorize it by adding a disco light and synchronized flahing red police lights to let everyone know yo mean business. BTW, that is a killer setup worthy of visiting Craig's health spa.[] Paint it titty pink, with lightning purple trannies. Nice score, by the way... ssh
Great score, fini. I'll bet that rig will sound super- The pre is beautiful. It is in amazingly good condition not to have been in "audiophile storage". SSH
