runninshine Posted September 9, 2011 Share Posted September 9, 2011 A friend of mine gave me this unit today (model 1) It's missing the felt pad on top but otherwise is in good condition,it's almost 30 years old now. LarryC Posted September 9, 2011 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Definitely give it a try and see. I like the NG, think it does a nice job, and records sound better after using it. I've not compared its results to a VPI's. Apparently you have to manually rotate the LP, which would be less convenient than a motorized NG like my 2.5. I have had to replace the felt pads 3 or 4 times over the years but well worth it. I love the convenience of cleaning the whole record at the same time. jcmusic Posted September 12, 2011 Share Posted September 12, 2011 I have had the NG for about 5 years now mine is the manual one, it works great records sound really good after a cleaning on this machine.
