Daddy Dee
I've had an attack of amnesia. Klipsch had a tube amplifier in one of the listening rooms at the Hope factory. Now I can't remember what make it was. Any help is appreciated. []

LarryC
I think your right Kaiser, Cayin, I think so, too. It was Klipsch's first foray into tubes after years of SS demo amps and some folks like me pleading for tubes on Heritage. I think Mark Kaufman had the lead at the time. seti
Yup Mark played a good Yellow Jackets CD that year as well.
kaiser SET say
Yes, yes he did[] All I remember is how many people commenting on how much that sweet Cayin sounded like Mac tubes[] Steve is also right about how much bass output it had, I've heard braced/reinforced Las and none have compared to the new Las with the super thick bass bin walls[Y]

Daddy Dee
Yep. It was Cayin. Thanks. It did sound good, too. Sunnysal, thanks for reminding me of PWK's Brook and thanks for the pic, too. I'd love to hear one of those.

Daddy Dee
Tim, Thanks for the links. Wish I was in the market. ;-( Just trying to remember. Back in the misty past a forum youngster brought one of these to my house for a gathering. Thought the sound was good, then too.
kaiser SET say
Anytime Dee, I've got a current loan I'm working on paying off and I'm thinking I may order a Cayin KT-88 to replace my Jolida FX-10. Seems for $1350.00 it's going to be pretty hard to touch. Not sure what Craig's getting for a stereo version VRD these days but if I went that route I'd end up spending a lot more because then I'd want a Peach or Extreme to go with it!! Need to have you back over as you never heard the Las once I put your Woofs, Crites Tweets, Joe Sportsters 400 Horn and 55's with Michael's fresh crossovers but they sound pretty sweet[]
Daddy Dee
I bet those La Scalas do sound good! It would be hard to improve on those components. Very nice synergy.
Daddy Dee
Tim, one other thought. Will Vincent's Mark III's show up on Audiogon for time to time. Might pick up on of those in your budget.
