JL Sargent
I have a nice Thorens MkII should you decide on another option. Note: Just checked and mine is a TD 166 MKII and looks just like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/THORENS-TD-166-MKII-TURNTABLE-/150985630716?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item232771e3fc Price is $350.00. I've decided that I prefer cheap Japanese tables that do EVERYTHING!

I just got a TD 125 about two months ago with the good Shure Type 2 not improved arm. Question. How long does it take to spin up to speed and does it groan a bit while doing so? I have replaced the belt and decided to put oil in the bearing well. Sorry Dude, Sometimes commerce must give way to "a guy's just gotta know". I have replaced the belt and decided to put oil in the bearing well. Sorry Dude, Sometimes commerce must give way to "a guy's just gotta know". When I got mine I had to replace the belt for the very same reason. There was lot's of groaning during startup. The new belt corrected all of this issue. I did not use any oil. It takes (roughly) 2 to 2.5 seconds to spin up to the proper speed.

JL Sargent
Here is the thread where I bought the turntable with a mountain of pictures of it. I have listened to it for only a couple of hours since! http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/130344.aspx?PageIndex=
