USNRET
What stain did you choose looks a little different than my walnut.
A1UC
I asked not to have it stained , I wanted it as close to natural as possible . Tom used an oil/wax that's all it really brings out the grain . Edited May 7, 2014 by A1UC
tk49
What stain did you choose looks a little different than my walnut. Most stains will blend the differences in the grain color, the darker you go the less the difference, like music it all boils down to personal choice. t

jcmusic
One last thing to consider A1UC. Mike and others at VPI are not not keen on the mechanical anti-skate device. They also say that the Classic 3(10.5i)tonearm does not really need any anti-skate applied anyway. You can apply some AS force if you need to with the wire twist method since your tonearm does not have the Valhalla wire. Noticeable sonic improvement witout the mechanical AS. Try removing it and see what you think. I ran my Scoutmaster Dyna 20X for along time without the AS, then I tried it and it improved the sound quality to a noticeable amount... whatever55
Both good tables , I heard both and preferred the classic If you had the Scout would you trade it for the Classic 2 ? If you don't mind what did you like about the Classic please ?

jcmusic
How does a VPI Scout compare to the Classic 2 ? Would it be a substantial upgrade ? Well I wouldn't know I have a Scoutmaster a big step up from the Scout, and I don't know much about the Classic 2..
