chickey
OK, if you look veeeeerrrry closely, you'll see the edge of a Chorus II in the corner. That's obviously the only reason I took this photo. Colin ------------------ My System

tpg
put and around the url of the picture. Should be something like http://216.37.9.58/ubb/uploads/IndyKlipschFan/ where the file is.... the entire url for your photo is: http://216.37.9.58/ubb/uploads/IndyKlipschFan/EmmaonthecounterJune2002.jpg so you take that and add the but with no spaces between the tags and the url. CaptnBob
Something isn't adding up here. The horns are "signed off on" in 1953, the crossover in 1958, and the bass bins have stickers referring to speakers which didn't appear until the early seventies. The shipping box graphics don't look "period" either, and there appears to be a modern "Klipsch" logo plate between the hf and lf assemblies. These k-horns must have had an interesting history. PWK was always big on how any Klipschorn from serial number 14 on could be upgraded to current performance, so maybe they "went home" a few times for refits. Or maybe you've got parts of three different speakers put together. Just a thought... Capt'n Bob
HDBRbuilder
FYI: I looked at those pics of the k-horns on eBay earlier today. They are mahoghany, laquered finish...but one thing bothers me...actually two things: 1. the "original boxes" aren't from the 1950's, but from the 1970's (or later). 2. the labels on the bass bins are also from the 1970's (or later)...note that on the labels on the bass bins the "Belle Klipsch" model is in the fine print as one of the line of speakers...it didn't become part of the line until around the early 1970's. Why are the boxes later and the labels on the bass bin later? Who knows? My guess would (hopefully)be that the speakers were sent in for repairs, refinishing, or upgrades during the early 1970's...newer labels were added then and the new boxes were aquired then...but...who knows for sure? It would be interesting to pose these questions to the seller, wouldn't it? Everything the seller is telling about the mid/high section of the k-horns is correct, though!! ------------------ I can now receive private messages
