I've said it before.  Patterson knows how to prepare a team for a big game.  It appears the committee had no small school alums on it, and they were afraid of a TCU or Baylor might walk away with a title.

The committee had no real interest in "private" universities.

How do you enter the last game number 3 and slaughter your opponent yet get kicked to number 6?  Because you are not Ohio State?  How does Patterson not get coach of the year after a rebuilding last season?

I've said TCU got the shaft all along and this game supports that. I'm just surprised Ole Miss didn't have more for them in this game. No doubt TCU was favored to win.

Even a number three versus a number nine, you would not expect this kind of domination.  TCU was favored to win by the bettors by 3.5 points.  /espn power rankings had the game at 50/50.

Comparing Patterson to Bryant??? Really hard to do that. Bryant coached during a time of unlimited scholarships. He signed the players he wanted and the ones you wanted too. Right now TCU can sign the same number of players as anybody else so school size doesn't really reflect on recruiting class.

Actually enrollment is now just over 10K at TCU but still a small outfit compared to some of these schools.
