  1. 1. What four college teams will make it to the first semifinals this year.

I now vote for OSU as #4, and I predict the committee will also.  OSU is outright champion of the B1G 10 Conference.  TCU is co-champion of the Big 12.  Since the committee would have no way of choosing between TCU or Baylor, due to the Big 12's lack of a championship game, the Buckeyes make that hair splitting unnecessary.

Next year the Big 12 would be well advised to have a true champion by way of a game, not bickering among coaches, ADs and the Big 12 commissioner.

Looking at it from another perspective....

What does it say about a conference championship game where one division champion, starting a third string QB, can beat the other division champion by 59 points?  Something is missing here....

Let's see, the B1G 10 has 14 teams and the Big 12 has . . . . ?   The 12 - 1 outright winning champ of a 14 team conference should trump a whining co-champ of a shrinking collection of schools that don't play defense.

Out of the current top four teams only TCU and Alabama have total defense rankings in the top 50 of all teams.  FSU is nowhere to be found, and neither is Oregon.  Weak argument diz.  Plus the "shrinking " conference has four teams in the top twenty while the mighty big ten has three.  Which conference was more competitive this year?

The Buckeyes made the fourth spot because of a phenomenal win over Wisconsin who had a Heisman RB.  Let's get ready to go bowling and see how this season ends.  The playoff system IMHO still needs some tweaks.  TCU and Baylor both had great season and for TCU to get knocked out of the number 3 spot is puzzling to say the least.

Well now counselor... I suppose we will get to see how well a Big 12 school (and private no-less), that comes from a conference that plays no defense can play against a B1G 10 team, Michigan State (#8) with the up-coming Cotton Bowl Classic. What a challenge for Baylor (#5) to play a team that only lost two games this season (Oregon #2 and Ohio St. #4).

And with all due respect... In Texas, there is no whining (or crying) in football....  :o

It will be interesting to see who gets thumped....
