-js-
I saw these come up using one of those search thingies - CL, LS, NW Ga so, this is an alert for anyone interested. I got to looking at the top hats on these, and noticed they look different to me. aren't they normally rectangular, just like the rest of the cab? any ideas what's up with these? I just thought I'd ask. to, you know, broaden my horizons & all that rot
CECAA850
That's normal for those 2 piece speakers.
Marvel
Ooooh! I'll be heading that way on Wednesday and could pick them up for someone if they want. Those look pretty good, even knowing they have been repainted.
wvu80
What are those called, or what model? LSI, splits? Can they be compared to the residential LS model, or should they be classified by themselves? +++ FYI I'm tracking Heritage prices on a spreadsheet so the next time someone wants to know "average" prices, I won't have to guess.

CECAA850
The pro versions were made in 2 pieces to be slightly easier to carry plus you could use separate amps on the top hats and bass bins if you wanted to. You can also change the direction of the mids and highs in relation to the bass bin.
-js-
well how about that - I've already learned something new today. maybe I should quit while I'm... well, not any farther behind? thanks for that info

CECAA850
Yep. Industrial, splits, commercial. I interchange those names but should probably be more specific.
CECAA850
How about NR? Non residential lol.
wvu80
There is not a lot of information on the LSI. I like the LSI with the aluminum trim but I see a lot of those pained all black. My general observation is that it is more rare but also has a smaller group who likes those, which keeps the price down. I generally value LS with Type A or AA XO's at around $1250, with the LSI selling for closer to $1,100. I have limited pricing examples for used LSI, so if I am wrong someone please correct me. I would think Mr. Colter would be our resident expert on the LSI.

It's never a good idea to post lower or higher pricing suggestions in someone else's for sale thread unless asked for, was my point.

I would disagree with this, especially re: the splits with alum trim. Yes, they are much more rare on the market, and they sound better than either "consumer" LS or Industrial LS. Heavier woofer, heavier cabinetry, directional and you are able to raise the tophat. They may not be acceptable, if you will, in a living room due to other furnishings or WAF, but they kick some serious butt in a basement music room. I have never found the price to be less than consumer or regular industrial LS. And, another thing Dave..........If you are developing/maintaining a spreadsheet, I would recommend you include columns regarding fair, good, excellent, near mint conditions, along with general markets, such as East Coast, Mid Atlantic, South, Midwest, Texas, California. I think there are easily a few hundred dollars possible differences between combinations of those.

And if they're priced high due to her badgering him to get rid of them, and the revenge listings due to her catching him cheating.
