RX8
Buy a car or a used receiver..... Didnt know much about this receiver so looked it up. While it is a rare model it still seems a little over priced. http://m.ebay.com/itm/ATTENTION-JAPANESE-AUDIOPHILES-Technics-SA-1000-FREE-EXPRESS-SHIPPING-WORLDWIDE-/202017536592?hash=item2f092efa50%3Ag%3A2d4AAOSwL9hZjRfB&_trkparms=pageci%3Adbc09079-91ce-11e7-a14f-74dbd1806ed4%7Cparentrq%3A4f61492b15e0aa14c84d81f6fff23014%7Ciid%3A2
The History Kid
Someone apparently has your same train of thought... Maybe $10k if it was never used and in the box, and even then you'd have to replace the dried out capacitors. Without the box and no way to prove that is never used, you can expect no more than $7K, even from Japanese collectors - who BTW have access to dozens of comparable models a year on ebay. Hi Jim, The unit has been gone over and capacitors all good with clean bill of health. We are actively looking for the original box and owners manual and after researching sales over the last 5 years unit will likely sell for 10-15k with box. The asking price was carefully calculated to not sell at 25k but simply is a global avenue for drawing attention large volumes of traffic to our website. In the first 24 hr period we had 579 clicks which calculates to audiophiles worldwide checking out our store which is 1 of the largest in Beautiful British Columbia Canada. I do appreciate you sending us a message if ever out this way 1 day and come in and say hi! Have yourself a wonderful day! From myself and the staff of Spinners Sound Centre Vernon British Columbia . Thanks Sincerely Chris.

When the price get's this high, try Christies or Sotheby's in NY. and stay off Ebay.
