Audio Flynn
When you only see the sun two days a month in Michigan 6 months out of the year you have to listen to perky music. Elvis Costello Romantic s B 52 s Dick Dale Rockpile Brian Setzer Can be a broad genre. But what about new power pop go invigorate a cold dark night with your best friend of 36 years ? Going out on a limb.... KEITH URBAN. The Fighter with Carrie Underwood. What is your idea on 201X power pop?
billybob
As long as there is music to keep you warm, I could dance by myself to some B-52's to keep circulating. Dick Dale, now that is a blast from the past...cool. Liked his version of Yellow Ribbon. Electricity and no mosquitos, a good thing too. Don't care for much country but do like a few of Zac Browns songs and whats on your list. But I have to say I do listen to alot or reggae, not really power pop but some might be close. We have been listening to it for a long time, went to Reggae concerts 40 years ago, somewhere we have pictures of Peter Tosh taken in a place that only held maby 100 people. 4 hours ago, Audio Flynn said: But what about new power pop go invigorate a cold dark night with your best friend of 36 years ? That's what's really important, right there, well done.
Moderators dtel Posted February 20, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2019 Something different you might not have heard of before, almost reggae pop One is from Hawaii and the other from California. If nothing else there different, and a version of "Lean on me" you might not have heard.
rplace
Can't help with anything that new but since we are fellow Michiganders I always liked a band from just across Lake Michigan. If they are not on your radar already, check out Material Issue...one of my all time Chicago favorites. Power Pop Trio in spades.
billybob
Saw Keith Urban in a tribute to Elvis among others this past Sunday night on NBC. Pretty good guitar player besides it seems.
Drewg
This band has a pretty good power pop/rock album that came out late last year.
Islander
Here's some power pop for you. The band is Four Get Me A Nots, or fgman if you're into that whole brevity thing. The song's called Beginning, and they are singing in English, although the strong accents can make it sound like a foreign language. Here are the lyrics: Beginning FOUR GET ME A NOTS Want to change your situationBut your pride is thereI know it must be petty but your pride is negativeWith it you will never reach the top Have you been aware of allThe things you have done till nowForgetting something is the same to run awayFuel for yourselfCall it a cornerstoneThe past is something that you keep People will soon forget youThey will fade away from youThe world and yourself is one, what you doWill always come back to you "Impossible no way" that's words to protect yourselfWhy do you dread change cause it doesn't matter if you failEveryone just wants to see, you put it into action Doesn't make a difference it could be anythingYou could get up and go outside not say a single thingThat's how everything begins,That's how people spark a new start And here's the video. They seem to play at full speed in nearly every song.
Schu
I can't listen to happy music when the weather is bad... I need depressing music. At night I need moody music.
