Ever Wonder What We All Looked Like?

Ok, here is the pic(I hope)...taken in spring of 1977...the entire motley crew who built your speakers back then gathered at the loading dock area....I am on top row...8 from the left...with blue shirt and hat on.

Some other names some of you have seen on your speakers: Mr. Bradford...kneeling up front on the left with brown jacket on...he tested alot of your speakers over the years; Gwin Cox...sitting in the middle section, with the flannel shirt and the head-band on...she was "hell-on-wheels" in the final assembly dept...lots of your speakers will have her as the inspector; Judy Clayton...in horizontal-striped top about twelve over from left on top row, and standing right behind Gwin...she started out sanding...ended up testing speakers later on; Judy Harris, also may be found as an inspector...she is standing on bottom row...6th from left in yellow shirt; Portus Gilley is another one...did it all at one time or another...and one of the few "original hands" left at that time...he is top row standing, 3rd from right...his name is often found on many of the speaker labels from the early 1960's. Oh, yeah...Janet Latham....she is the gal on bottom row, standing...5th from right...I posted another pic of her this evening on another post here!

OK...now for the clincher...only ONE person in this pic is STILL at Klipsch today...that is Robert "Bois d'Arc" Wyatt...he is now the head of the new shipping warehouse and in the pic he is...standing, top row, 9th from the right!

They were just one of many company t-shirt designs back in those days...the vast amount of different designs were just one small run...pretty much for employees, and dealers only!...with a few extras made...then another one was designed....not many of the designs had large runs made!! Matter of fact, a few runs were for employees ONLY...and they came around and took down your size for them!

And now, almost 30 years later, what do the skilled craftsmen/women from Klipsch's golden years look like? What are they up to now? Do they miss not working for Klipsch?

This is what every Klipschan wants to know...5.gif
