Got_Horns
I'm working on getting a center speaker. It has a bent cone. Guessing something hit it. How much does this effect the sound? Anyone know any secrets on how to unbend without removing the surround? Working on a picture here soon.
Got_Horns
You can see at the top speaker, what I'm potentially dealing with.
Got_Horns
Also curious if anyone knows how much a replacement speaker is?
TasDom
That won't affect the sound, will only affect your OCD. For $100.00 bucks, run don't walk!
Deang
Will also buckle if driven too hard. Buy, and start looking for another RC-7 that you can cannibalize. I’ve never understood how this supposedly doesn’t affect the sound.
TasDom
Is the tweeter missing?

Whether or not my ears can hear the difference??? Guessing that's why the price is what it is.

Deang
I do. If you change your mind and don’t want it, you could probably sell that one good woofer for more than you paid for the whole cabinet.
rebuy
Heritage Klipsch never have Bent Cones. Look here for new drivers, Speaker Exchange Speaker repair, replacement, recone, refoam (reconingspeakers.com)

Tweeter is there. You can see the bug screen in the driver in the photo. Phase plug is behind that screen and not a part of the horn like some other klipsch

You could try to use some pipe (ex. from vacuum cleaner) and try to suck it a bit (but not with the machine). This is what I did with Forte's woofer dust cover. But actually with cone, you have the access from behind too, so just try to push it out carefully.

I can't see a good way to fix it. A vacuum isn't going to pop the cone, like it would the dust cover. It's worse than that picture shows. Got_Horns
I may try some experiments with heat and a mold type press thingy. If that doesn't work....new driver!
Seadoc
Try a shop vac with an end attachment slightly larger than the bent cone (for smaller cones). For larger cones use a std end piece for the vac. Very important to have an incremental valve for suction power. This way you can be ultra careful. Have seen it done with good success. tigerwoodKhorns
If you have the copper colored horns you will likely never get the wrinkles out. On Heritage, some 89 cent black enamel paint from Michaels will make them look as new. I also did this on JBL Centuries and the yellowing woofers now shine white like new.
