Ray Garrison
Speaking musically: most haunting whistled theme - Lassie (the one with June Lockhart as the wife) most recognised - The Lone Ranger most insipid contribution to Pop Culture - Welcome Back Kotter (Cotter?) bravest - Edith singing the theme song to All in the Family most rocking - tie, Hawaii Five-O and NYPD Blue most likely to get stuck in your brain - whistled theme to the Andy Griffith Show most bombastic overproduced but still way cool production - theme to the Underdog cartoon show best jingle - multiway tie, among them Gilligan's Island, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Sponge Bob Square Pants... Jabez Scratch
Gilligan's Island certainly deserves an honourable mention in the catchy jingle category. Ditto for The Flintstones.

For just sure power and symphonic quality, I'll definitly have to say the intro to Star Trek:The Next Generation is up there. First time I heard that on my Klipsch, I was blown away at how awesome it sounded.

Jabez Scratch
I see that the Miami Vice opening is getting a lot of recognition -- and why not? ... it had it all: speedboats, racing hounds, F1 race cars, and breasts that bounced to the beat of the cool music. RFinco
what about the opening music for THE SHEILD or the openers for OZ. also, for memories don't forget HILL STREET BLUES or Seasame Street
chuckears
I'll second the Hill Street Blues and Star Trek mentions, and would add the theme to "Ed" (Foo Fighters, "Next Year"). They used something slower-paced and unexpected for the second season, but I literally cheered to hear "Next Year" at the start of the third season.
