BEC
I am looking for 1 or 2 K-33E woofers to "practice on" while teaching myself to recone them. If anyone has such a thing in need of repair, please contact me with the price you want for them. j-malotky
I had a blown single K33 that I disposed of when I moved 2 years ago. I wish I would have saved it now. Just like all my old audio sales brochures I had in the 70's that you see go on Ebay for $10 each JM
BEC
Thanks Terry, Anyone else got one lying around? Bob
sheltie dave
Bob, if you or Dee make it up for Klipschstock, I have a K44 for you.
BEC
Dave, What is a K-44 from? Not sure I know what that is. Bob
greg928gts
Bob, I have a K-33 that needs to be reconed, but I don't know if it's an "E". How will I be able to tell, does it say K-33E on it? I'll check and let you know. Greg
BEC
Greg, The "E" indicates made for Klipsch by Eminence. Should be on the woofer but might not be. I think all K-33s for many years have been made by Emenince. Bob
greg928gts
It is a K-33 with a Klipsch tag on it. It makes a farting noise when more than a few watts are put into it. No I'm not playing a fart cd through it. Please send me your shipping address and I'll send it down. I bought another pair of La Scalas that didn't have any crossovers. I'll be working on these next winter. Maybe you could discount what you think the K-33 is worth off a pair of Type A crossovers for them and let me know how much I owe you. Malcolm
If it doesn't say K-33-E, you can still tell it is was built by Eminence is it has an EIA code of the form 67-xxxx or 67-xxxxxx on it. Bob, Are you going to use Eminence parts to recone or generic?
BEC
Malcolm, I will use Klipsch parts made by Eminence. Bob
sheltie dave
Bob, it is a brain fart, I meant K-43, the commercial K33.
djk
A K44 is from the theater version of the Klipschorn (Jin Cornell has one) "It is a K-33 with a Klipsch tag on it. It makes a farting noise when more than a few watts are put into it. No I'm not playing a fart cd through it. " Try playing it without the woofer inductor. If it sounds OK, the inductor has a shorted turn. If it still sounds bad replace the tinsel leads. (this is assuming it doesn't rub)
BEC
Dave, I expect that a K-33 recone kit (which is what I will have) would work on that (K-43) essentially turning it into a K-33. Someone might be able to answer that for sure. Bob
djk
K43, K44 have a 3" coil, K33 is a 2"
BEC
djk, Thanks for that info. The K-43 is a much different woofer. Bob
sheltie dave
Wow, thanks DJK. I guess that is the reason the K 43 can hadle that much more power.

GregJD
Hi Bob, I have two K-33E that are original in a 1987 Klipschorns. I checked each one with a ohm meter and they have an open circuit. I just sent you a msg thru your listing as I am interested in a pair of new K-33E. I will check back on this site later. Thanks, Greg
