mandi
Will these sell? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=61378&item=5722542530&rd=
fini
Those are quite rare, and original teak (despite the ad's statement that they're HWO's), but they will never sell for 2K. They'd go for a grand, maybe. A fella could make some teak boxes for much less, even paying a cabinet shop to put them together...but I've stated this many times. Blah, blah, blah... Bill H.
Hi, I saw those too........and laughed!........teak or no teak- a person would be better off saving up and buying some K-Horns for that price!.......Ouch. I don't think he'll even get one bid...........I was going to email him, about the price, but didn't want to waste the energy.................. That actually isn't too surprising to me... I mean yeah it's pretty much rediculous but if those cabinets are teak, they are insanely heavy. fini
Professor, They wouldn't be solid teak. Rather, they're lumber-core plywood, weighing roughly the same as any other veneer.
Frzninvt
They are only veneered in Teak, Prof not made entirely of it. Insane price and shipping costs. He won't see a bid that is a guarantee. Even so that is not near as crazy as the guy in Arkansas that has the hand picked Brazilian Rosewood Heresy's for $3K and matching Khorn's in the same finish for $4K. jorjen
Is'nt that a Khorn in the background of the photo? Almost looks as if it may be Teak(if compared to heresy in foreground)as well, but hard to tell.
J.4knee
IMO The only way these will sell for 2K is if someone else in Rancho Santa Fe buys them.
Professor.Ham.Slap
Alright, I kinda figured, but I thought maybe since they were incredibly rare that perhaps the cabinet composition might've been different as well. Guess not.
Daddy Dee
No way. Unless they go to some ultra rich person in Asia. Obviously the seller is selling them on some kind of consignment arrangement. However, he or she doesn't have a clue or doesn't care about reality. The shipping prices added more comedy to the April Fool's listing.
3dzapper
According to my 1977 price sheet, H-TO Heresys were $400.00 each. Given some inflation in that era they might have been $1000.00 for the pair in 1981, not $2000.00! FYI teak or rosewood Khorns were $1515.00 each in 1977. This guy/gal hasn't a clue. toddvj
Think of the listing fee this fool wasted by listing these on ebay.
