Deang
Yes, there are. Selling? I kept waiting for you to email me back yesterday to let me know what you wanted to do. What are you asking for these -- about $500.

After all, they really are nice. Plus they look like, and are near new. Maybe I should ask more? Dean, you have mail.

AndyKubicki
Tom, did you get a pair of KHorns?
Deang
I think the Auricap loaded AA's look pretty cool too. The Lacquer really sets things off. I've been working with Shellac lately, and it comes close with less work. These were a little different. I used 3M double sided tape to mount the caps and tweeter inductor, and then went back and built up "holding blocks" with the hot melt. No Disc
I'm lukewarm about the looks though. I'd rather have black epoxy on mine. heh.
Deang
I actually tried the black hot melt -- it looks worse than the clear. There's no way to make the stuff "look good". I've tried just about everything under the sun. There are adhesives that I can use that don't makes themselves so obtrusive cosmetically, but they require set up time and curing time before I can ship. The hot melt is easy to remove too. I can use a heat gun or a hot knife, and remove it all pretty fast.
Deang
A closeup of how the inductor is "held in". This picture also shows a different way of running the ground. I used 14 AWG silver coated copper, clipped it to tabs, and then soldered it on. I don't think I've done anything exactly the same way twice since I started doing this. Painful Reality
Nice sturdy grounding bar. Much better than the original Heritage groundimg scheme.
Frzninvt
Dean, are those the Auricapped AA's that you said you had? If so they look very nice! I'm tempted, at least one pair of my Khorn's would like those for sure.
Deang
I normally run a separate ground wire for each driver. I used to think it made a difference, but I'm not so sure anymore. I used to think, "Well, it's AC -- so what's coming this way is as important as what's going that way." "Stringing" the wiring was an experiment. The 7/9 silver does not like to be bent around much. So this time I just pulled it and soldered. It's not as fragile as it looks -- there is actually a little bit of play (though it doesn't look like it). I think I still prefer drilling out the terminal strips and using solderable eyelets for the driver connection side of the board. A bit of a hassle, but worth it in the long run. No finish on these, just raw Cedar. Type B's are well hidden.
Deang
Yeah Charles, those are the ones. Well, were -- they were picked up by "Overkill" last month. No problem though, I can hack a set of these together in about an hour.
leok
A lot of good looking and ,I'm sure, good sounding work. Crossover component improvements make such a big difference. Leo
mike stehr
There should be some sort of metal clamp or something that you could clamp big film axial capacitors to wood?
