Most folks seem to also agree that off topic (non-audio) threads belong in general questions on this board. After you clear those hurdles, threads should usually go wherever the participants mutually choose. The down side to open ended audio discussion is that when a total reversal of direction takes place, it is usually followed by a camplaint that the thread has been hijacked.
