m00n
cause if it's a gem, I'd like to get take it off this guys hands. is it tube or something else? 'Rotel' Analog Receiver: AM/FM,Phono,Aux. Four speaker ports, 150 watts (very powerful and loud, classic analog dial tuner, pulls in stations very very well, AM stations from surrounding states come in very well at night. Has an extra plug in the back to plug in your cd player. It's simulated wood, works perfectly and I rarely use it.

m00n
Yeah? Ok so it's not tubes. Is it worth a hoot? Guy wants 30.00 for it.
Daddy Dee
$30 is lunch money. Go for it.

ben.
I'd bet it sounds pretty good for what it is. You sure don't see many of those, that's for sure.
hwatkins
I am on Daddy's side here m00n - Rotel is known for not bad stuff and for $30 you may have a steal - I imagine it will be at least worth the thirty bucks.
m00n
Oh and for what it's worth. It's a 1973 model. Not sure what model, but it was made in 1973
notneB
I bought a quadrophonic sansui for 30 bucks in 1983. I think it was a late 60's or early 70's model, but I don't have any quad sources (8 tracks or lp's). For a while I had it set up to split my 2 channel sources and it sounded "real good". It would also "simulate" quad. I should probably hook it up to something. Benton
jt1stcav
Reminds me a little of my '78 Technics SA-5170 25 WPC receiver...These classic receivers from the '70s were "the nutz", or in today's ebonics, "the snizzle"!
D0N
according to orion in 73 there were only 2 rotel receivers. the rx454 quad at 20wpc and the rx800 non-quad at 40wpc. I think the guy is smoking his lunch telling you its 150wpc or even 75wpc. I'd say it's neither gem or junk. $30 is probably a good price if you need a receiver for the garage. m00n
I think your right. In looking at this page, it must be either the RX154A or the RX454A. Which now makes me wonder yet again, could it be tubes?

Tom Mobley
If you eat at Taco Bell or Costco you can feed 10 on that money.
Allan Songer
Two dry martinis and a Chiffonade Seafood Salad at Musso Frank pretty much uses it up! jt1stcav
Unless I'm mistaken, Rotel never made a tube receiver (that I know of). I'm almost positive that $30 receiver is full of transistors!
Daddy Dee
jt1stcav, Boy, your Technics receiver and the Rotel look almost like clones.

It's been an LA landmark for years. Heck, why not take them to some of the others like Pink's, Philippe and Canter's too? Oh, and of course no LA road trip is complete without a visit to La Serenata De Garibaldi. Mmmm.....mmmmmm!!
