I thought they would at least go for $1600,

since they are FULLY restored !!

I have seen many worse "un-restored" Mc-30's go for more then $1200.

Congratulations, you will enjoy them.

Now what tubes does it come with, brands and black or gray plates? They are what really does make a difference with the amp.

Erik, what exactly is missing? It looks like mine from the outside and the insides also resemble mine. The only thing I can't see is the type of caps that have replaced the Bumblebees on the circuit board.

Even though it was full of those darn transistors, driving my Cornwalls with a McIntosh was still about the best thing that ever happened to my horns! Klipsch and McIntosh seem to be made for eachother IMO!

Congrats on your MC30s, Craig...they look nearly new. Sure hope they sound equally as good as they look!4.gif

Dflip:

What tube match-up do you have ...

...and / or recommend to be better for my newly restored MC-30's ???

.... The 350B audio tube , or the real GEC KT66 ??

Does anyone have any ULTIMATE tube suggestions?

Craig, you did well on those. If they haven't been shipped yet, stress the importance of OVERPACKING to the seller. Pay for two seperate boxes if need be. They're heavy. They won't get set down, they will be dropped... or tossed. Mine wer very well packed, and the outer and inner boxes were pretty well taxed. Overinsure them, too. You got a good deal for the market right now.

All I've tried for finals in my 30s are the GE that came with them, and some RCA blackplates I've got around (all 6L6GC). The 350B trounced them in every department. Some folks, Steve Hoffman included, prefer the GE or RCA. He's got ears, but so what? So do I.

Congrats on a great purchase. I'll never sell mine unless my family needs the money & there's no furniture left & I'm already driving a ****box.

I wanted to bid on them also but bigmama was looking over my shoulder, never bid on somthing that expensive with the wife in the same room.

Seriously when I saw those on ebay before I went to work I new someone was going to get a good deal, the time they ended had a lot to do with the price, most people are still at work or trying to get home.Congrats great looking pair.

Thank You for your kind jesture.

I have never heard ANY Mcintosh tube amps before,

but went on blind-faith on these Mc-30's,

...since they are raved about on this great forum of ours.

I needed a complete front stage of tubes and only have my Baldwin.

So, I have recently bridged my Baldwin into MONO ,

and am using it on my center-channel LaScala !!

Have you a pair of MC-30's or ever heard these before???
