BEC
For those with nothing better to do, who can find more than 4 errors in this auction? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5791166875 Bob
colterphoto1
I'll bite. 'load' speaker in title folded horn design- I think not dents in 'sub'-whoffers spelling of whoffer spelling of supurb 'loadspeaker' in the text the child was 2, not 3? plus everyone knows that Hollywood is in CA, not FL. LOL Michael
travisc
bob, unless I'm wrong these heresy would have had to travel back in time, folded horn not fold time(sorry bad Dune reference). They dont appear to be k-22's. I dont know about the third. S in serial number for 78?
mike stehr
"plus everyone knows that Hollywood is in CA, not FL. LOL" Really? http://cityguides.local.yahoo.com/?location_city=Hollywood&location_state=FL Maybe the sarcasm factor went over my head...... Klipsch Loadspeaker System, a pair, USED, Heresy's! Known as Klipsch Model HD-BR, consecutive Serial Number(s) 54S878; 54S879. Klipsch speakers, known for their efficiency and "folded horn" design. Hand-crafted in white birch. Stained Pecan/Hickory. I'm the ORIGINAL OWNER. Puchased in 1977 for the Whopping amount of $550.00 each! These speakers and cabinets are in supurb condition. Two(2) small dimples, compliments of 3 year old child, in center of both Sub-whoofers! Vintage HiFi at it's FINEST! Winner takes BOTH! This is a NO RESERVE auction!! Good Luck!!! NOTE: These speakers are very heavy. S&H is on the expensive side. Please consider before bidding. Pickup welcome! "Klipsch speakers, known for their efficiency and "folded horn" design." I don't think comment really meant anything about Heresy being a folded horn design, just a comment towards Klipsch speakers in general. It isn't the first time I've seen "woofer" spelled wrong, and probably won't be the last. And kids love to trash speaker drivers, trust me..... BEC
My information says 1978 also. How about the $1100.00 he paid for them in 1977. Does someone have what those would have actually cost in 1977 (or 1978)? Bob
garymd
There's way more than 4. If he gets any bids, someone's a sucker.
jheis
I don't know what speakers built in '78 were selling for in '77 - kind of a tough market, maybe he was buying futures in Heresys. I believe the unfinished "decorators" were the cheapest model, and list for H-BR with a grill was $311.00 in 1980. I doubt that prices had gone down by $240.00 in the interim. Maybe he paid $550.00 for the PAIR. Or, maybe he actually bought them FROM a decorator. He's probably only able to offer that sweet $100.00 shipping deal because he's a teamster. Klipschfoot
Heresy's (should be Heresy loudspeakers) Loadspeaker (huh?) Capital "W" in Whopping (should be l.c. w) Sub-whoofer (should be subwoofer) Two(2) (should be Two#(2) ) Stained Pecah/Hickory (one or the other) Vintage HiFi at it's FINEST! (No, it is not and "it's" should be "its." No reserve auction beginning at $549 with BIN at $599 - that's funny! That was fun. Now let's find Waldo! OldGuy
Attached is a 1974 price schedule. I checked and bought klipschorns in 76. The price increase in Canada was about 1.5% in the two years since I picked up the price list.If anyone is interested in 74 or 76 original literature I could send it along.
