looking for a belle for 3 channel..eventually

Recommended Posts

well, I have all my new Mac gear, some bass traps, getting some Al K crossovers for the KHorns, and I have all the other equipment needed for a 3 channel set up..except the speaker! I'd like to get a Belle for that duty..so..if anyone here has one for sale, or sees one for sale, or would like to split a pair, let me know! I can get to the Seattle area and ship it from there..but that's about as close as I can get. I have to fly 1100 miles just to do that.

Like I said..eventually..it doesn't have to happen today.

Thanx!

Steve

Gary

Think there's any way we could get it to Seattle via Forward Air or something if I can get you a good address? I could use a friends..then fly down there and ship it the rest of the way on our airline?

Just curious if we could work something out..thanx

Gary I have used the Forward Air location neer BWI. It is close to the airport and easy to get to. You have to crate/palatize it yourself then take it to them. I used them for a bulky pinball purchase. Pretty easy to work with. Everyting is moved by forklifts onto trucks then driven to the correct forward air location. Most people think they fly their stuff...they do not. Just located near Airports.

I may have a single Belle (oiled Walnut) for sale in the future, provided Klipsch is willing to build me one of the new LaScalla II in lacquered Birch to match my Khorns.

Steve: The walnut lacquer finish is a little bit lighter than walnut oil. Of course, the lacquer finish doesn't require periodic oiling like the oiled finish does. My khorns are walnut oil, so that is why I am looking for the same finish. BTW, my Belle has the cane grills -- nice looking combination, just doesn't match what I already have.

Artto: Let us know when / if you put your Belle up for sale.

Some of you may recall the Belle I built I built to match my '60

Mahogany Khorns. I'd be willing to discuss building one in any

desired wood and finish for anybody who wants one to match their

Khorns. Mine turned out great. Birch, walnut, rosewood,

zebrawood, whatever. I sort of like building wood stuff, it's a

nice change from my 30 year engine building habit.

Here's a link to the old Belles thread from last summer. I'm

stying to figure out to post hot links on this forum software so it may

end up being a copy-n-paste thing.

[A HREF=/forums/418504/ShowPost.aspx]build-a-Belle.[/A] nope, still doesn't work for me. here's a pasteable link:

Well, I didn't see anything very exciting about screwing the horns to a

piece of wood, I didn't think to take pics of that. Th crossover

mounting is even simpler than that, I use velcro strips to hold the

home-built ALK crossovers. I do have a few more pics of the last

of the build I never posted.

Hmm, KB-BR Klipsch Belle - Birch Raw. Probably $500 labor

to build the cabinet, plus the wood. BYOD, bring your own

drivers. I'm not sure the K-501 is still available from Klipsch,

could be an issue. The rest is standard Klipsch Heritage stuff.

I went and looked at Al's site, those things are $565/pr.

Wow. Called Klipsch, the K-501 is no long available. :(

They were still available last year about this time, about $150

per. Too bad. It might be worth contacting anybody who

pipes up saying they installed trachorns in their Belles.

Of course, anybody who had had a Belle with trachorn and Beyma or JBL tweeter would have a very nice speaker indeed.
