Moderators dtel's wife Posted February 5, 2006 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2006 Have the plans for Saturday night been arranged?
fini
Typically, there's a hootenanny with a lot of hoopla. This year, though, we may opt for a shindig. IOW, a dinner together, with lotsa music and visiting! I don't know if Trey has anything else up his sleeve...
Moderators dtel's wife Posted February 5, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2006 I asked because everyone has said there is not much to do in Hope. The farmhouse for the mixer on Friday night is great. I thought since the farmhouse is so reasonable and everyone is "lugging" gear already, maybe we should consider the farmhouse for Saturday night also. We could all go out for dinner Saturday night and head back to the farmhouse since it seems a favorite of everyone's. That way, the "shindig" won't bother those country folks up that way if we decide to go "into the wee hours".
seti
Farmhouse for both nights sounds easy. And put me down for two shindigs!
Moderators Amy Posted February 5, 2006 Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2006 The Saturday shin dig will be Klipsch sponsored. We're looking into a few options at this time...
Moderators dtel's wife Posted February 5, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted February 5, 2006 Farmhouse for both nights sounds easy. And put me down for two shindigs! We kind of figured Saturday night was Klipsch sponsored. I just thought the farmhouse may be a viable option for Saturday night also. Maybe we should take a poll.
Moderators Amy Posted February 6, 2006 Moderators Share Posted February 6, 2006 There's a lot of factors involved in where the Klipsch sponsored event will be held. We appreciate input, but ultimately, we'll make a decision that makes the most sense for us. If you want to discuss options with us, Trey is the one doing the inquiries and planning. Send him an email...
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted February 6, 2006 Klipsch Employees Share Posted February 6, 2006 I am working on a concert / BBQ for Sat night. If you guys want to do something else, that's cool. Give me some ideas. Here is one of the bands I have lined up. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=14916587 Working on others. spaaaz
bbq and concert sounds good to me as well!
bhendrix
BBQ and concert is good so long as the band is playing through Jubilee's. []
Moderators dtel's wife Posted February 6, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted February 6, 2006 Whatever you guys decide we will be there...Just seemed like the farmhouse might be a reasonable option, because Trey had mentioned something about rain ruining everything. All I do know is that everyone that had seen the farmhouse seemed to really like it and it was far enough out of the way that we wouldn't bother anyone.
ssh
Trey, Pail will be fun. That pic is taken @ one of El Do's best music spots. Another local band you might check out is Repeat Offender (In my opinion, their lead guitarist is the best in this area.). These guys all know each other. Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted February 22, 2006 Klipsch Employees Share Posted February 22, 2006 Right now we have 3 bands. Hazzy Jane (one of the Engineers in Hope is the lead vocal) David Almond (local blues guy, his wife works @ Klipsch) Pail (all friends of Klipsch and users for years) I thought we had a chance to have the Gov. of Arkansas, Mike Huckabe and his band come play. but it looks like they are bussy that weekend. Piranha
Trey, Sounds like fun! Wish it wasn't on Father Day weekend. [] Oh well, there's always 2007, right? []
ssh
"Worthless Dave" is a great_ entertainer: writes pithy verse, sings it well, has high energy on stage,& connects with his audience. I think I also just described Pail! You're in for a treat, attendees. Trey, we listen to a lot of the same music, if you listen these guys. Are you also familliar with Decon Dark from Texarkana? These guys are all major contributors to the El Do music scene. SSH
