DrWho
Wow, now that all the craziness with school is temporarily over with....steamer (Greg) was wanting me to get a midwest gathering going. We were talking about making it a monthly or bimonthly thing too (rotating around people's homes). But first we need to figure out where the people are located that might be interested in such a thing. Steamer is over in Iowa, Colter is in Indy, I'm anywhere between Champaign and Chicago, and I know of a few guys up in Wisconsin that might be interested. There is Spaaz in Naperville, his bro in Oswego. I think there are some guys in the Glen Ellyn area? I forget. I know there are more klipsch nuts all over illinois...that froogle map is pasted with em. Anyways, if any of these towns sound familiar then be sure to chime in and let's get something rolling. I would offer to hold it at my place, but my apartment can't hold too many people. I MIGHT be able to get a room on campus somewhere for free (kinda like what we have at the mixers)...or at the very least we can get a room for a nominal fee. I'm an employee at the union right now and supposedly I will be the presidant of the AES next year (man that sounds so much cooler than it really is) so there are a few strings I might be able to pull. There are lots of cool rooms to meet in on campus (with good acoustics too). But before I start doing legwork it would be best to figure out who is interested and then try to find a central location for the first meeting. And if anyone has a home suitable for meeting in, then be sure to mention that. I know the pilgrimage is coming up so if need be we can meet way later, but I think if we shoot for April we should be fine. So ya, post if you're interested and we'll see where this goes. Clarence
Where are the Michigan people? I still havent figured out if we're northeast or midwest...... maybee both?
DrWho
Not sure really...but if guys from Michigan wanted to drive down towards Chicago I see no problem with that. Maybe you guys need to have a Michigan/Indy/Ohio gathering?
oldtimer
hey Clarence! You are between the ****** and the bag remember? LOL. Seriously, I would like to attend any Klipsch event within possibility, who could resist? For your sake, consider Michigan more midwest than northeast, but find your way to any event you can. Enjoy! j-malotky
Is the Chicago horn club still getting together? I am always up for a field trip to get together with other audio guys and would be interested.[] I have hosted several get togethers over the years. Always a good time. EVGuy
It sounds like a good idea. I've never been to a gathering but I would like to. I may even be persuaded to host one some day. I have a large 145 year old farm house on 1.5 acres surrounded by cornfields in Earlville, IL which is about 50 miles west of Naperville, and 50 miles south of Rockford. MarkBK
I would be the Glen Ellyn guy. Sounds like it could be fun - time permitting. Although - I am planning the remodel of the Audio/HT room for later this spring....so not sure if I could host yet. Mark

IndyKlipschFan
So ya, post if you're interested and we'll see where this goes. ==================================== Obviously I, (wife and I) would love to do this. We have opened up our Klipsch filled house after the Indy Klipsch Pilgrimage events. It has been fun to do so, and celebrate this audio hobby with other Klipsch fanatics. My downstairs Home Theater is now done too. Took me a year to finish. To be honest, I was sad it got moved to HOPE, then again.... I will go. It is a dream of mine to tour the facilities.... Downstairs we have a rec room pool table.. (With the original Heresies I bought when I was 15 ~16 yrs old..I am 44 now.. ) we have a bar, popcorn machine.. Bathroom, Lets say it would be a great way to hear 2-3 systems in our house too. It might be good if I go to someone else's house first, to see how all of this is done... But I am sure we can have a great time here in Indy too.

steamer
Doc you the man, As Mike aka Dr.Who said we spoke of a get together here in the Midwest.Sounds like we have some interest and should be able to pull it off at least once a year if not more.Hey if they can do it in D.C. we can as well. Looks like a lot of Klipsch fans in Illinois and that seems to be a central location. It doesn't really matter where, what matters is we try.We all definitely have something in common.I am more than willing to host, good excuse to clean the house lol,(I'm a bachelor).I could not have more than about 10 people, the room is only so big.The doc says he has a briefcase full of gadgets and can connect anything. So be prepared to bring the gear.I guess we will guage the interest and go from there.Greg
NOSValves
I know some will cringe but the absolute best place to have a meeting "room wise" would are own beloved Paul Parrot. I bet no one has a room that can hold a candle to the presentation that room gives it is absolutely stunning. I just don't know if Paul could swing it.
