DoubleJ
I received a pair of Bob's new tweeters a few weeks ago and just got around to installing them...Kind of, that is... They were safely re-packed into the box they came in so I wouldn't lose or damage them before installation. Well, with both tweeters in hand, and all the intentions in the world to install them, the most unthinkable happend..One tweeter decided it didn't want to handled anymore and wanted to be free. As it was falling to the floor, everything around me went into the "Matrix Super Slow Motion Mode". No problem I thought to myself, with my cat like reflexes, I should be able to catch it before it hits the floor. The cat-like reflexes failed to kick-in this time. All I was able to do was to catch a piece of the tweeter's lense and thus put it into mighty spin that was moving equidistant from my outstrectched hand. With things still moving in slow motion, all may not be lost. There may be a chance that it may make the carpet and land safely..No harm no foul!! Nope!!!! It hit the hard-wood floor just inches from the nice plush carpet. The sound of broken platstic brought everything back into normal time as well as a plethera of obscenities that could be heard for miles. So, Bob, you will be receiving a wounded tweeter that needs some fixing. The piece that broke off was mostly confined to the wing were the screws are inserted. BS Button
Oh, and I thought by the title that something might be inherently wrong with Bob's tweeters.
BEC
Man, You mean we can't even blame UPS for that one? Bob
jwc
You obviously aren't in Bob's best wishes. I got mine with a diamond shell. Not only tough but makes the sound so totally WAF.

chops
When I get my tweeters in, I'm going to line the floor with pillows all around my CW's just in case I drop them, even put a pillow on the top part of the slot port! LOL I won't really do any of that, but I will be extra carefull when handling them. []
NOSValves
A little super glue fixes anything.
BEC
JJ's new replacement tweeter is on the way. Fortunately for him, we just got our new "Nerf" version of the horn. Bob Crites

[] ..And some of you were going "ga ga" over the clear plastic ones. Craig: Believe me..I thought about the super glue idea. But I thought Bob would like to display it in his shop to show others what happens when "Good Tweeters are Sold to Klutzy people". Tom Mobley
ah, go ahead and blame the UPS guy, it's not too late.... Say, ever since I got, ahem, a little older, I've discovered that I can stick my foot out and break the fall of the precious object gathering speed as it heads for the floor. Not that I've been dropping more stuff lately.......
arfandbark
So would JJ's tweeter be a CT125 "N"? I'm just trying to keep up.
BroMike
Actually, the CT125N is a "nerd" version with pieces of broken electronics glued to the horn. The nerf models will be "F" for "fumblefingers", "C" for crystalline, "P" for "plain", "S" for "Scented" (you know how BEC likes to smell stuff....), and so on....don't want to give too many secrets away Michael
gaspr
Michael, it appears that you have inherited your dad's charming sense of humor. Great stuff. By the way, welcome to the forum!! Garth
DrWho
Sheesh......any good self-respecting person would've thrown themselves between the horn and the floor! [] [] Tom ok, storytime... A couple years ago I was carrying my favorite pair of klipsch pa speakers down some stairs and there was a rope at the bottom to tell people not to go up. I saw the rope and thought I'd just jump over it (hey, I was 18 at the time...). Well lo and behold my toe catches the rope and I go flying...in that time of rotation I had the sense to do a half twist and pull the speakers into my chest. So I landed on my back and got crushed by a 90 pound speaker, but nothing broke and I was very happy! (minues the whole sore back and head and chest and.....) So now the kicker...same set of stairs, 2 weeks later. My sound trainee, was carrying the speakers down (no rope this time) and he totally tripped over his own feet. But instead of saving the speaker he let it go flying away and the thing freaken dropped down over half a flight of stairs (about 8 feet in height and 10 feet in stairs). I was so pissed that he didn't sacrifice himself for the speaker (yes, he even got a friendly slap over the head)...but the best part is there was absolutely no damage at all to the speaker. Heck, not even a scratch! Oh how I love Klipsch...

Say, ever since I got, ahem, a little older, I've discovered that I can stick my foot out and break the fall of the precious object gathering speed as it heads for the floor. Not that I've been dropping more stuff lately....... Oh wow, that's actually an old sound guy trick I was shown in my early years (ahhhh im sounding like an old fart now). It's a lot easier to drop mics to the floor than to constantly be bending over all the time... So one night I was carrying some water glasses to the table and one slipped out of my hands....so out of reflex I stuck my foot out to catch the fall. In my rush to get my foot there in time I ended up kicking the glass across the room causing it to shatter against the wall. I thought it was a hilarious accident and just busted out laughing - which was not in my favor because all my dad saw was a drop kick and me laughing.....oh my was that a hard one to clean up; both the shatterred glass and my angry dad. I can't imagine the kind of damage to the wall had it been a speaker...
