Parrot
Seems to have attached ok - can someone let me know if they can access it alright. Heckuva thorough list, Max. I'd say you were really anal but I suspect there would be people here who would infer unintended things from the comment. I still keep it all in my head rather than consulting a list, but it's getting more and more difficult as the collection expands and there are many recordings of the same piece. Do I have that one already, or did I just see it before, or did I hear it at my friend's house. Memory is supposed to get worse as you get older and then you start repeating yourself. My memory is a sieve. Not only do I buy works I already have I buy the same versions. It is actually even more anal than it looks. That spreadsheet is synchronised with my mobile phone (a Microsoft phone) which has Pocket Excel on it. When I am shopping for vinyl I use the phone to quickly check what I do and do not have. Makes me look quite the prat whilst shopping - but saves a bundle on useless (to me) disks. I am planning to expand the spreadsheet to include a condition indicator at some point so that I can replace a few of the disks that are not in tip top condition. At least I do not have the problem with Rock and Jazz as I buy them so rarely.

Timmikid
1-Need more space!!! 2-Pay Nephews to come over and do some data input on the laptop!! That's a nice reissue of Way out West, is it the 180 grams or is it the two album 45 rpm issue? I am looking for the 45rpm issue (as well as a mint 1st pressing []), there is one guy, but he's asking Eifeltower high prices. If someone knows a store who has it for relatively normal prices (max app. $65.-), and wants to pick it up for me... BTW, I need more cupboards! I have the same as yours, but 5 rows long and wide, filled with pop, rock and jazz. A smaller cupboard with classical and the same smaller cupboard for country and old acoustic blues. Pics will follow sometime.
shload
It is just the $9.99 OJC copy, a very good recording. I have a few of the new Blue Note $29.99 reissues and find this OJC very close to them. I can't say that about all the OJC's that I have bought. I really needed to pickup the larger rack when I was at IKEA, but I just don't have the room for it. I have been pulling from this large rack and putting together smaller racks with Jazz and other good recordings I want store.

jt1stcav
There's no way I could compile a list... I have a record cabinet buried deep inside my bedroom closet with mine and my one brother's first LPs when we were kids...probably 100 or so... In my other brother's bedroom is a rack with a bunch of 12" singles...maybe 50... In the hallway closet are my mom's 45s...about 50... In the dining room hutch on the bottom shelf are my mom's LPs...I guess about 20... Scattered on a back shelf out in the garage are my dad's old organ LPs...I guess 10... In a box on one of the top shelves out in the garage are my dad's classical and country LPs...maybe 100 or so... And then there's all my LPs from '80 to the present, to include all my dad's latest classical and organ albums, my bro's latest rock albums, and the majority of my grandparent's LPs from the '50s and '60s...maybe 300 or more... It's not like I have thousands of 'em, but they're scattered throughout the house and it'd take me several weeks just to find 'em all and catagorize them. And don't get me started on all the cassettes and CDs strewn throughout the place...sheesh!
