DrWho
So are stingrays considered fish? Not bad for a camera phone, eh?
Moderators dtel Posted August 14, 2007 Moderators Share Posted August 14, 2007 Yes and really good for a phone. They get big, my dad caught one about 6 feet across, and some get even bigger.
DrWho
6 feet? Man, that's big enough to ride!
Moderators dtel's wife Posted August 14, 2007 Moderators Share Posted August 14, 2007 Dtel and I used to go fishing for redfish. It seemed as though stingrays hung around with the redfish, cuz we used to catch stringrays regularly. We did catch lots of huge redfish too!!!! DrWho
Redfish is exactly what we were going for too, but we ended up with that sting ray and two sharks instead...

Wrench722
"So are stingrays considered fish? " Better be careful!!! [] That's how the Crocodile Guy got zapped!!![:S] LOLOLOL What is a ray? What is a skate? Rays and skates are dorsoventrally flattened fish that are closely related to sharks. All are considered to be within a closely related group of fish called elasmobranchs. Rays belong to three scientific orders - Pristiformes, Myliobatiformes, and Torpediniformes while skates are classified in the order Rajiformes. Groomlakearea51
Had a dorso-ventrally challenged cat once. We called him "Flat Cat". Tough little guy, did not have the heart to put him down. Friendly, etc., just flat, really flat.... He slithered about until he was about 3 months old, and all of sudden one day, his little body just "popped" out sorta normal. Looked like a cat version of a bulldog... But (I know, where am I going with this?...) he liked fish!!! [] Really, it's true!! [H]
Moderators dtel's wife Posted August 14, 2007 Moderators Share Posted August 14, 2007 I always "freaked out" when I would reel in a stingray on my line!!!! But....I loved catching those redfish that were too big to fit in the ice chest. So what are "flounders"?
Groomlakearea51
"So what are "flounders"? Well.... usually "yankees" with a new bass boat and don't know how to put it on back the trailer.....[]

Moderators dtel Posted August 15, 2007 Moderators Share Posted August 15, 2007 Many people have eaten Sting Ray and didn't know ! Seafood restaurants would use a 1" hole punch and cut out pieces of Sting Ray, batter and fry them and would pass them off as Scallops .
