kuisis
Anybody have a suggestion on the best place to buy a computer tower? I don't need a monitor or anything else, just a tower. thanks Tom
jtkinney
I just bought all the parts to build a computer at www.newegg.com Their prices were better than anywhere else and service was prompt. I did have a hard drive that was DOA, but there was no hassle returning it. Good luck.
JJkizak
The vendors usually try to sell the towers with power supplies included. The cheapo ones have paper thin metal (beer can) and quickee card pressure locks instead of screw locks holding the cards in place. These pressure locks are so fragile the cards will work out of the motherboard over time. The fans will actually cause vibration of the metal sides of the case because the metal is so thin. Look for 120 mm fans in the case. JJK
j-malotky
When I build PC's I use Newegg or Tiger Direct. NewEgg has the best product reviews when a decision is needed. JM
kuisis
Thanks for the input. Does anybody have a source for already built ones? Tom
Daddy Dee
I've bought from the Dell Outlet Store a couple of times. Their refurbished or scratch and dent units are a good value, IMO. They carry the same warranty as new. They also sell some units that are off lease, but I haven't thought their prices on these units were good. Brac
What are you looking to spend? What is the computer used for?
kuisis
I was looking to spend between 500-1000. I mostly use it for surfing the net, word processing, and some gaming. Tom
