It's been seven years since I lived in TO, but you could check out George's Spaghetti House on Dundas near Jarvis. It's a restaurant with a small stage, where I saw Joe Venuti, the famous jazz violinist, many years ago, and saw Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson another time. If it's still open, it's worth a call to see who's appearing. There are other jazz clubs, but that's the only one I've been to.

The entertainment papers are Eye Weekly and Now Magazine, available free at boxes around the city, and the first place to look for what's happening this week.

For vintage stereo, check out Replay Electronics in Etobicoke (the "ke" is silent) on Queensway, about 15 minutes drive from downtown. They don't seem to update their website very often, but they have La Scalas in stock sometimes.

Hopefully, someone who actually lives in Toronto will help out with more info.

"where I saw Joe Venuti, the famous jazz violinist, many years ago" Not many people know who Joe is these days. That's a great show to have seen. I love "Joe in Chicago" and "S Wonderful", fun jazz records. Also Joe and Zoot with my favorite sax player Zoot Sims.

Sorry about the derailment, now back to your regular programming. Nice score on the Vinyl, as well. Just dusted off my old Dual turntable yesterday, I think I'll burn some of my albums to cd. At least the ones that haven't been released on cd as of yet.
