I have been reading many ads for audio equipment lately. I feel I am now qualified to develop a template for all to use as they struggle to write the "perfect" ad. Feel free to add to this template as appropriate. two twelve inch woofers will push the equivalent of close to 1.5 times a fifteen inch woofer. The Chorus and the KLF both use the same mid driver. The horn on the KLF is a very wide band horn but it is very thin walled. The KLF mid horn responds well to some structural reinforcement and damping as it can be made to vibrate when the woofers play loud. The KLF do play lower than either Chorus do. The real baffle of the Chorus is nor braced in any way and can vibrate enough to actually slap the mid driver. The KLF cabinet panels are smaller and will vibrate at higher frequencies that those of the Chorus. Since the OP has a pair of Chorus ll and is looking for some additional I would like to offer a suggestion that might just provide the added bass and cost a few dollars at most. All that needs to be done is to glue 2.5 ounces of steel washers (two large ones) on to the centre of the passive. If you don't like it simply remove the washers. I came up with this mod originally on a pair of Quartet then on a pair of Forte ll. A small amount of five minute epoxy works well to bond the washers together and to fix the combined washers to the passive. Four or five small dots works very well and makes them easy to remove if desired. Best regards Moray James. The Chorus II & KLF 30 do not share the same midrange driver, the Chorus II uses the K- 61 with a phenolic diaphragm & the KLF 30 uses the K-52 with a Polymer diaphragm. Even with a 3/4" bucking magnet on the back of the the K-61 the driver never vibrates near to slapping the back of the cabinet. Adding weight to your passives is a risky move if you like your music loud, i tore a passive from the frame once, adding weight to the passive will increase the risk of damage.

There has to be a country song in there somewhere. I am not crazy about country music but always did like Randy Travis, he was always kind of between old country and new country. A lot of the newer country is closer to pop rock than country but I can only take so much of it before moving on.

Always like Randy's music for the most part. Serious music with a geniune flavor to it. Got on a 40 foot ladder at work one day with another to look at a commercial Gilat sat system at our store. Younger fellow co-worker pulled out a bottle of peppermint schnapps and took a healthy swig first. Mr. Young might remember, a southern man doesn't need him around anyhow.

How old were the other crossovers ? I was quite surprised only changing out the old oil can parts on LaScalas, it was not just a little change in sound. I have to ask but answering is optional, what is the Miner thing, a hobby, job or just an interest ? Just wondering, it's not something you hear of often. 3rd generation goldminer (hobby) 4 Claims on the north fork of the middle fork of the Feather, used to Dredge every year till the idnians paid the Gov to Ban Dredging in the state 5 years ago. just about ready to let the claims go this next year, because if you cannot move volume you aint going to get gas money home. Morning Crew, spent a good part of the day yesterday gutting/rewiring the wifes Khorns, one done, drinking was involved, Crites Xovers due in this week. Today, the wife has taken a couple of days off, Reno run, just for the day, she can play, wile I go fetch new tires for her car. And to anser the 401 question, no iv not spent it all---Yet---, it seems the only problem I have currently is, I missed my figurin by a couple of grand after paying off all the bills, (thought id have a little pocket change left), so I will start the process of getting just a tad more this week.......

I am just curious if your Netflix streams 5.1, 7.1, stereo, DD +. Also, is the dynamic range the same as playing a bluray? DD + was made for digital stream and a lower bitrate. Movie playback for me is most dynamic with a bluray disc compared to streaming. What is you take on this topic? Maybe I should also ask are you streaming from a PC, BDP, Smart TV, Roku, ect. and what is doing the decodings, the player or avr?

Keep the Chorus II's. Experiment with moving the speakers to and from your back wall or corners to adjust your bass. Update your crossovers if they are still factory units. Add a proper sub if you are still not satisfied, KLF 30's would be a downgrade in my opinion.

Of note, the Behringer amp doesn't have a noisy fan. It's convection cooled. I have the same model amp running a T18 horn loaded sub with my Lascalas.

mine runs 2channel,hd&5.1 havnt seen any "7.1 or dd"(may be the way mines hooked up) and i normally run it 6ch hall 2 thru optical thru my smart tv thats actually hooked right to my router picture quality is normally very good(depending on source of recording) and sound is good or average quality i would say i really like netfix. tons of good political videos and true documenturies. kids movies are good. action movies lack imo although getting better. and i can run it in every room and other houses for $8 monthly

I stream Neflix from my Apple TV, and I believe the audio is dictated by the source of the programming you are watching, for example: Breaking Bad, House of Cards, and the movie The Avengers were all Dolby Digital. However most of the programming seams to be Stereo and I don't think they have any offerings in DD+ yet and that Hulu and VUDU are the only 2 that offer that level of audio at this time. And IMO, NO! none of these even come close to the audio (or video quality for that matter) of a Blu-Ray disc. But again it's more convenient, and we are a lazy society. So sadly it seams that streaming is the future and not Blu-Ray disc. I have over 150 Blu-Rays, but I only watch one every now and then. I stream daily and I cut the cord over a year ago and haven't looked back. My hope is that they are able to come up with a way to stream the High-Res codecs (Dolby TrueHD, DTS Master, etc...) and I'm sure they will, but who knows when.

No big deal on the 1/2 inch wrenches, you can use a 13mm. I know this because back in my motocross days, I was always losing my 13mm wrenches!

I would wonder about you as well man iv had to have been looked at as a speaker nut of sorts...I remember my 1 neighbor i had. I had just carried 4 kinda large pairs of floor standers into my house and it was that way all the time lol at least pairs but man i never felt as guilty about it than the moment i was carrying speakers through the door lol thats when it would hit me...Now where do i put these lol Now with klipsch stuff.... basically only klipsch in my house its easier but i still feel weird carrying anything radio wise into the house like everybodys watching me lol I actually get to feeling nervous playing my radio lol owe well f'em

akdave, I don't care for the shape of the acoustic grid. They don't even show a report for sound absorption, and I figure it is because it doesn't measure that well. Before adding room treatments, you should have a specific goal in mind. For instance, if you are getting high frequency reflections from your mains, and you want to calm that down, you might add appropriate absorption materials strategically placed on the walls next to those speakers. eth2, yes they do. There are some very nice looking ceiling tiles, and you can get well hangings printed with your favorite images. I forget the company, but they were discussing it a while back here in the forums. Sound treatments can be done with tact.

Checkout the new Chane subwoofer in gloss black. Some of their packges include the amp. Not much difference in cost compared to DYI. The sub on the right is an Outlaw for size comparison.

Man Im finding myself loving movies in surround sound lately but still get so anxious to run my 2 ch music all the time. I think I have a true addiction to 2 channel listening and im obsessed with it no kidding

A beautiful day shaping up here in the port city. Yard chores in store while the lady friend goes to a Kentucky Derby party. A charity fund raiser with ladies in big hats drinking mint juleps and men wishing they were somewhere else. On a roll having pressure washed the house and edged and cut the grass. I like these, I will soon be able to afford these, a weekend drive down to SoCal no problem, however I have no where they would be needed. Wife will get these Khorns as soon as im done fixin them up, for the money I spent last week, if these would have been available I might just have moved on them. I have sent a few emails to Socal friends letting them know these are something you don't see often.
