Rick, that rc-35 would make a great rear speaker in a 6.1 or 8.1 config. ---------------- I,m already using a pair of RB-5IIs for rear surrounds in the family room for a 7.1 setup, and there is no place to put a rear speaker in the bedroom setup. And it is a RC-3 not the RC-35 but I imagine they are about the same.

  3. I agree with Marksdad, get the RC-7. We use an RC-7 with RF-7s in front and RF-5s for surrounds in our family room and it sounds great. When we set up our bedroom system with RF-35s in front and RF-3IIs for surrounds I thought a RC-3 would be fine. It was obvious right away that the RC-3 was the weak link so I bought another RC-7 for the bedroom. Just be sure to calibrate it to match the other speakers and it will sound great. I boxed up the RC-3 and set it aside until my 8 yr. old son is ready for his first surround setup.
  4. I have to agree the audio was ok, but it didn't live up to all the hype. I have a lot of movies that sound a whole lot better, and have more bass.
  5. Fini if you scroll up a few posts you'll see that I said I saw it a couple of times and really enjoyed it. People are telling you to check out certain websites disputing the facts in the movie. You can also check out Michael Moores website and read his take on whats being disputed. It's really interesting.

You guys see it? ---------------- Yeah, I've seen it a couple times, excellent documentary it really makes you think. I'm looking forward to his next movie Fahrenheit 9-11. And I'm also a gun owner so don't think I'm anti gun because I'm not.
  7. He gave you good advice, you need a SPL meter and a setup disc. I use Avia but there are other good ones too.
  8. I watched it last night and I thought it sounded pretty good. But I have to agree with BBB it doesn't compare with The Haunting DTS version or for that matter Titan AE in DTS. I'm also running dual SVS subs, A PB2+ and a PC-Ultra. The Machine God did sound good.
  9. Country Western. My wife likes some country music, but thankfully she loves me enough to not play it if I'm around. It really puts me in a foul mood.

    the Sopranos

Yeah Dave was looking a little rough there. I'm surprised we didn,t see him in the Bada Bing scene, that seems more like him.
  11. Nice setup, now you have to work on getting a good subwoofer. It will take your movie veiwing to another level.

    Deadwood

Excellent show, what a bunch of characters. My wife and I got quite a few chuckles out of some of their profanity laced comments, especially from Calamity Jane. You gotta love HBO.

    Secondhand Lion

Quite a few of the DD-EX movies are not flagged for EX. Movies like Harry Potter, and We Were Soldiers, and many others are DD-EX but they are not flagged to automatically engage your rear channels. You have to manually engage your rear speakers.

It is a real good movie, and you are right the audio is excellent. The opening scene when the airplane flew from the rear speakers to the front felt like they flew right through my skull.

    Deadwood

Yeah, Deadwood looks like a really good show. HBO owns Sunday nights on TV.
  16. Really nice setup. Is the TV top wide enough for the RC-7, or is it on a shelf?
  17. Well if it was me and I had money burning a hole in my pocket, I would think about getting a good amp and use the 3803 as a pre-pro.
  18. I've got three different setups in our house, two are surround and one is a stereo only setup. The first thing I did when setting each of them up is find the tone defeat button and turn it on. I completely agree with the others, you have to turn off the boost and let your ears get used to hearing what its supposed to sound like.

    Priest fans??

Yeah, the early stuff was good. Sad Wings Of Destiny and Stained Class were excellent albums.
  20. Wow, do you think that after we ban everyone that you don't like from the airwaves maybe we could burn some books you don't agree with too? I mean you wouldn't want to take a chance that grandma and the little tykes might go to the library without you looking over their shoulder.
  21. I got Avia from Amazon.com a couple years ago. I think I paid 30 something for it. edit: I see Amazon wants 37.46 for Avia. As much as I've used mine I've definately got my moneys worth out of it.
  22. Dolby Digital ex is matrixed. If I remember right, I don't think Star Wars episode one is flagged for 6.1, you have to manually engage it.
  23. Congrats, great choice, you wont regret it.
  24. I wasn't talking about the way they sound. Soundwise you would be happy with either one. They are both great subs. I was talking about durability. If someone spilled beer or puked on a PB2+ it wouldn't do much damage. But as nice looking as an RSW-15 is I would be too paranoid some drunk would spill something on it or just have to touch the pretty woofer.
  25. If it's for a college dorm I'd definitely get the PB2+. Its built like a tank. Its pretty much party proof.
