  1. I agree!! Maybe one minute and then break it up. I understand the stragey of the ground fighting but it is boring after awhile and no one can submit the other. My dad used to say the same thing all the time until he got more educated in grapling strategy and technique. There are some fights where two guys go to the ground and niether knows what they're doing and that's boring as all get out, but the guys good at grappling are great fun to watch (even if it doesn't seem like much is going on). Faber is my favorite fighter - although I was super dissapointed with his performance when he lost his title. I understand the grapling stragey and appreciate the skill it takes but for me it sometimes can be borring to watch if that is all they do when it is suppose to be "mixed martial arts". If I want to watch a Ju Jitsu match then I will find a broadcast of it. I have watched matches that were grapling and enjoyed them to a certain extent but after 5 minutes of it I just get tired. Graplers are outstanding fighters but just a little to slow for my taste, kinda of like Baseball[|-)]
  2. very sorry to hear that you got laid off. i work for Orange County (Southern California) and we just layed off several hundred people. Fortunately, my department is heavily funded by the feds, so we haven't laid anyone off. I hope you find another full-time job real soon. Steve I got laid off Aug 08 and still looking and will probably have to take something paying half of what I was making and have sold off my 2 channel system but those are still funny. I know what you are going thru JT1 so hang in there!! I am lucky cause most of my family and friends are close by which has been a big help.

  4. My tube DAC and the Luxman I had I used XLR and thought it sounded better but that does not mean you will. As always it depends on the person. If you have the equipment then get some XLR cables and try them.
  5. I can vouch for that, this is where I spent a year remote deployment to Hofn, Iceland. This place looks a lot better and I would make way more money.
  6. Glad to hear you are doing better and have a caring daughter to help you recover!! This almost happened to my sister as we were walking across the street Monday. We were crossing the street(legally) and if my sister had not jumped out of the way a car would have hit her. If I had been on the outside and she had been on the inside while walking I would have been hit since I was not paying attention. I have had bruised ribs on both sides and that hurt like He!!. Everytime you try and contract your abs and muscles around the ribs to get up out of bed it feels like someone is punching you in the ribs. I hope you have a speedy recovery!!
  7. Always go with what sounds best to you. Best thing to do is experiment with the placement until you find the best sound to your ears. I have fortes and have them slightly toed in.
  8. Ater working at Dell for 10 years my first thought is "just wierdness" but there might actually be a reason. If you really want a answer go to the Dell forum and post this question there and the moderator might be able to help.
  9. Just listened to the Herbie Hancock / Chritina song she does have a very good voice. Listen to Brit then go to this Youtube of Herbie/Christina and see which one you like better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Vs6cqxVYJ8
  10. I agree about Aguilera's voice it's to bad her style of music is not something I like. She is 28 now so maybe she will expand her style. As far as the Video that was probably what she actually sounds like before the sound eng in the audience TWEAKED her sound just a bit. The only tweak the sound eng should be doing is turning down the volume!
  11. I agree! I heard the LS IIs with a Rouge Audio Temptest II 90 watt tube int amp. The LS IIs bass sounded very good at moderate listening levels. Moderate to me is you can still talk to the person next to you without having to raise your voice much. I also agree that the room can make a difference along with the equipment. If you have not worked with MDF then go with plywood.
  12. I did not notice any mention of boxes for the speakers. I know a place I can purchase boxes and packing material that I have used before. If you want them I can get them packed up and shipped to you
  13. I may be able to help. What speakers are you talking about?
  14. Maybe a version with no grill covers or grills covering only the tweeter and midrange horn. That way the area around the tweeter and midrange horns can be veenered also. That would give more of the KOA on the front of the LS.
  15. I would go with black for the grill covers. I like the KOA and I would want to see more of it when looking at the LS. So I would leave off the bottom grill covers so you can see more of the KOA while sitting down. That is what I like about the KHorns you see the whole front of them with whatever veener you use.
  16. I had 2004 La Scalas and heard a pair of La Scala IIs and the bass on the LS IIs is lower. The lower bass balances out the overall sound of the LS IIs. They do not go as low as other Klipsch Heritage but still a very good improvement on the overall balance of the sound compared to the 2004 La Scalas.
  17. No matter how bad they screw up or steal pay them 6 figures, bonuses, stock options, the oportunity to steal from the investors and employees, PLUS a great golden parachute worth umpteen millions!! But remember that is the only way corporations can get qualified execs!!

  19. "Well, I answered my own question. Picked up a nice KLF C7 to match my KLF 30s today and swapped out the KV4. It is much much smoother and I am glad I did it. There definitely is difference."
  20. Have a good holiday and hope you don't have anymore trouble getting the screws. If you do let me know and I'll see if my freinds in Tech support can help.
  21. Need the 1080P projector for that. The improvement in home theater projectors and the drop in prices to performance I would wait another year or two and then upgrade to a 1080p projector. enjoy!![]
  22. So it finally arrived. Sorry to hear about the missing screws! It would not surprise me if the person who built your computer has been working 3 weeks straight! Dell does this so they can ship as many Christmas systems before the 23 when manufacturing shuts down. I use to come back to work on the Sat after Thanksgiving and work right up to Dec 23 9-10 hours a day. It sucked cause I was so tired that I did not go home for Christmas but sleep Dec 24-25. I was not in any kind of a social mood and would go home on Dec 26. This will be the first year I will spend with my family at Christmas in a long time.
  23. I think the HIIIs have better woofer and bumps up the DB from 96 to 99 DB. So they are more balanced in their presentation.
