  1. Our Epson RX600 photo printer died, and we replaced it with a Canon ip5200. I have 4 new cartridges that will fit the R 200, R 300, RX 500 or the RX 600. They will just end up sitting in my closet, so anyone here that can use them , please let me know. Free to any forum member; All I ask is that you reimburse me the mailing. I got them from Comp USA awhile ago, but can't return them more than 14 days after purchase. I paid 12.99 to 17.99 each, and the box says best to use before 12/2005 on one, and the other 3 say 06/2006. If you want them, let me know. Patrick
  2. Craig, I am not sure if VRD's are like STD's, or if they can be treated with the same antibiotics, but are you sure you want testimonials?? Some of the "ladies" out there can be harsh . . . . .. . . . . .
  3. Guys, thanks for the various perspectives. I very much appreciate the input, especially since I expected someone to inquire as to how recently I transitioned to crayons for my colored artwork . . . . . . .
  4. Rob, I sent a pm to you. Please let me know if it doesn't come through.
  5. hey! maybe that was YOU at the pool . . . . and maybe that explains how your friend "willy" got sunburnt [][][]
  6. seems like a perfectly normal young lad to me . . . . . except for the letter part; hasn't he heard of email?
  7. Rich, I sent you a 2nd email 2-3 weeks ago and then another tonight, but as i re-read this post i noted the "hit or miss" comment on the forum's pm system. Did you receive either? And as for that deadhead (fan), remember that he is not a real doctor . .. . .. . just kidding Gary!
  8. Gggrrrrrrr . . .. . . We previously had an HP inkjet that was fine, but the Mrs. wanted a photoprinter. We got an HP color inkjet but it wasn't necessarily great, nor was it long-lived. Sales guy at Comp USA was pushing the Epson RX 600 as the best thing since sliced bread, at least in July 2004, so we next got that. The epson printed good photos if you used the expensive paper, but gosh it was slooooooowwwww, and i mean very s l o w , as in old ladies walk faster than that thing prints, even in B&W. The Epson has a gremlin inside that i can't diagnose, though i have tried. I just remembered I got the extended warranty . . .. . so tomorrow i am gonna go shopping, and that is where your collective wisdom comes in! Am i wasting time and money trying to have one machine do BOTH the regular black and white printing for letters, school papers, etc AND color photos?? Any recommendations on good machines ( and i am willing to pay for quality, as long i get quality)?? Should i just stick to printing letters here and get the photos done at costco? Any constructive (or funny) criticism welcomed. Thanks, Patrick
  9. well, i wanted it to be a Browning Hi-Power 9mm (Belgium made, of course) but SWMBO likes guns even less than stereo gear . . . .. . and with the kids and all, ended up with the exterior lights activated by motion detectors . . . . . which is fine for the area in which we live, as they don't allow bad people around here . . . . (yeah, i know i am here, but i snuck in). got a buddy whose wife is a sufficient deterent to keep the bad guys away . . . . . . . seems she keeps the good guys away too . .. . . . he would probably trade you some stereo gear, even if is from Radio Shack! Heck, he would probably even provide delivery . . . .
  10. ah c'mon sputs, when i posed for that you told me no one else would ever know!!!!
  11. I had the same thoughts . . . . but ya beat me to posting. I remember he was having some difficulties, vehicle died I think, was selling some equipment and seemed to suggest there may have been some pending domestic issues which might cause him to find new living arrangements . . . . . .but maybe I read too much into it . . . .. hope all is well with you Win!
  12. Lynn, you have always been a class act around here. I am terribly sorry to hear that it's metastacized. In the coming days I hope you focus on those you love, and those who love you. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you and yours in the difficult days ahead. Best regards, Patrick
  13. mOOn, a LOT OF US out here are starting to worry about you, ol buddy . . . .
  14. Bruce and Barbara, my thoughts and prayers for you and your family are the same as everyone else here. I know not why the good Lord lets bad things happen to good people, but maybe someday He will let us know. Until then, our hearts cry with yours. All of our love and support, Patrick
  15. old mojo sure wanted that poop. if you look at his recent purchases, he even has some china plates upon which to place his newest epicurean feast! Hey mOOn, nice avatar . . . . . . and what a touching sentiment (wink) in your signature . . . . and just when we were thinking you were an incurable romantic . . . . go figure. best regards
  16. OK, now I am confused . . . . . especially since the very first sentence in this thread, initiated by YOU, references character attacks upon you that are causing you to ".......rethink this forum" . SO, if the comments were made outside this forum, why are you rethinking this forum????????????? Isn't this the same thing as if I said "someone was a jerk to me at work today, so I am rethinking my participation in this forum" ?????????????????? I went to the doctor today and she was a jerk, so I am rethinking my interest in this forum . . . . . . ... WHAT AM I MISSING??????????????
  17. Hey Deano, congratulations !!!!! Hope Mom and the newest member of the family are both doing well. My first four were girls (they still are, too) . . . are you trying to catch up? I mean, do I have to get back in the race?? Best Regards, Patrick
  18. . . . . . . . and this coming from a (good) guy who painted black and white stripes on his CW's and tried to convince us they were made from "zebra wood" (wink, wink)
  19. Very touching. Ya just gotta love Notre Dame and the Irish!
  20. kenny, you say "uptight" like it is a bad thing . . .. .. perhaps just a bit overly sensitive to some of the stuff floating around out there. Most of the lawyers I know have grown weary of the jokes, but no doubt will still give you a courtesy laugh so as to be a "good sport."
  21. "Just because a piece of equipment is old doesn't mean that it can't perform as well or BETTER than something [younger or newer] . . . . " Allan, EXACTLY what I have been trying to tell her . . . . . but she is not buying what I've been trying to sell her!
  22. Civil trial attorney; trying to solve problems for people. Being an "old school" guy, I view it as a profession rather than a business. Before you start bagging on lawyers, remember that in every craft, profession or industry there are those that strive to reach high standards, those that are satisfied with mediocricy, and those that sink (or dive) to the bottom. I hope most of the lawyer jokes are directed to those that view it strictly as a way to make money and/or to make others miserable.
  23. Barry, congratulations! In one fell swoop you have made all of us envious of your good fortune . . . . and taste! I think you will find a fair number of potential purchasers here in the forum family. Welcome to you and Sue. Best regards, Patrick
  24. Hey Sputs, just kiddin' with ya, ain't meaning no insult by the "evil twin" analogy.
  25. Duke, I guess I was slow at noticing the details about the MichAEL and MichEAL spellings. I thought your post was in response to the crap posted by newbie mike jones, but maybe his post (diatribe and attack on Mike) was generated by something going on in the thread(s) to which you have reference. Bottom line, Picky's buddy ain't such a bad guy[] . . . . . . but maybe he has an evil twin lurking somewhere . . . . Say, talking about evil twins lurking, where's our ol' buddy Sputnik??[][]
