  1. Full, dynamic, live, swallow-you-up-in-the-room sound! You will forget that you are listening to two speakers. Find a dealer in your area and ask for a demo.
  2. It could be followed by a bigger San Andreas earthquake,
  3. That video was taped in a very cool looking bar. Does anyone know where? It does look very Texas.
  4. I think my wife is gonna "surprise" me with a pair of Dynaco MK IIIs and a Scott 130.
  5. Michael, It is explained pretty well in the book ("The Life...The Legend") starting on page 145.
  6. Rick, I'd love to have a copy of that! You have a PM. David
  7. "Les Paul and Chet Atkins together is smokin'! " Would that be 'Chester and Lester, Guitar Monsters'? My friend in college had that album. It's been 25 yrs since I heard that one.
  8. "Klipsch is black Like a burlap sack A Totally Dark Hue (Doo-whap-a-doo)" Sippin' on a little too much home brew there?
  9. Cool site, but none of the links in the Jazz section seem to work.
  10. Well then, Happy Birthday. Hope you got some cool stuff for your B-day!

  12. "They were in like new condition, everything works and I even got the factory shipping boxes!" Sweet deal! Congrats. A guy can never have too much of a good thing when it comes to Klipsch Heritage. And when the wife agrees, life is good .
  13. DJB, Your Heresys are 1983, manufactured near the time that my '83 Heresys (157Y015/016) were made. You noticed that they have the E2 crossovers and they probably have the K-52-H drivers. These are very smooth drivers and do not have the 9KHz problem that some of the K-55V drivers have. They also likely have the square K-77-M tweeters. You did well, and they should sound outstanding! Congratulations.
  14. I picked the KG4s over Heresys 20 years ago. I now have both and have compared them at length. The reason that I picked the KG4s was that they sounded better to me at the time in the audio store (solid state amplification, probably poor placement of the Heresys). I thought the Heresys were too bright and had poor base. I remember the SRV album that I used to compare them and I was blown away by the full sound of the KG4s, and while not as forward in the midrange, the bass and overall presentation was incredible for the price (which was about $200 less than the Heresys). I never regretted the decision, however, a few months afterward, the Forte came out and I wish I had waited for that speaker. It has the best of both the Heresy and the KG4. Given the choice today (Heresy vs. KG4), I would buy Herseys, use tube amplification, and place in corners on 8" high stands.
  15. So what does any of that have to do with the Pilgrimage?
  16. "But it could be worse. I heard The Who are doing a single (charity) concert in New York and the ticket prices are $2100 EACH!!" -------------------- I just checked out TotalTickets web site, and seats in my section are already going for $295 each. They want $3600 for up close seats! This will be the 4th time I've seen the Stones. I go to very few big venue concerts these days, but I have to see them one more time.
  17. "If you react correctly, she will not put anything on your speakers. Just reach for your 9mm to give her a couple of caps in the ***. It is a rough way to teach someone, but they learn quick!" Why waste bullets on your wife? Just walk up and jack 'er right in the mouth! "Get yer sh*t off my speakers, b*tch!" "Now get up and get me a beer!" ------------------------ You guys are hard core! I had Klipsch speakers when my wife met me 19+ years ago. She never complained when I upgraded to Cornwalls, and when I upgraded to Khorns, she only asked if she could put a few things on top. I'll take that compromise .
  18. Congrats on the Cornwalls. Is that a printer stand in the photo? Move that to another wall and you will have plenty of room for a little toe in . The Corns in my HT are 11 ft apart, and a toe in of only about 6 to 8 inches makes a big difference.
  19. My wife has silk ferns on my Khorns. I really don't care, except she routes the fake vines so that they dangle in front of the tweeter and mid horns. I move them off to the sides and when I'm not looking, she moves them back.
  20. Bought tickets for the Rolling Stones Nov 29 Dallas show. They went on sale this morning. I had never done the internet concert ticket purchase before where you print your own tickets. There is a unique barcode on each ticket that gets scanned at the event so only the first copy used is accepted. The extra fees are bad. Cost an additional $37.32 to buy two tickets that were already $160 each! The first time I saw the Stones in 1981 my ticket was $18.
