  1. glad i could help, i know your friend will enjoy them.
  2. Richard, Congrats they are stunning and you will love them.
  3. Terry, i can't post a picture because i painted the back of it black so it would show up better on my cane grills. being clear you could't see it attached to the grill.
  4. Terry, my 71's were clear with gold on top
  5. i have 71, 72, 74, and 75 all gold
  6. if you are the seller you gotta love the bidding war and the goof balls that have a zero rating bidding it up. and if you are a buyer you hate it. i try to only bid once with 30 seconds or less.

  8. i have 2 that came with my 71 verticals that i bought last year still stapled to the back in a plastic bag. they were clear so i had to paint the back of them black so they would show up on the cane grills. just last week decided to install them. they look sooooo much better on the front than the back.
  9. ebay #5755496989 0 rating, no pictures and he spelled it this way KLIPCSH 325 opening bid

I bought my CWO Cornwall 1s for $500 in the '80s, sold them for $1K in 2001 and bought a pair of '89 AK-2 Khorns for $1K = net cost, zereo! (but the ALK crossovers I want cost over a grand!) ---------------- am i missing something here ?

Cabinets are a bit rough, but I like the overall look. Were these very common? I see the seller is in Arkansas. Ebay # 5754894362 paul ---------------- they are the decorator model and i think the cabinets are actually in pretty nice condition. its the woofers that are a bit rough. these sold for less because they don't have the grills.
  12. they can be fixed, contact forum member BEC Bob Crites
  13. in excellent condition, 1500 is a bargain. grab em !!!
  14. if you file a claim, a UPS person will come to your home and inspect the damage. keep all the packing and the box it came in. i am 100 percent sure they will take your speakers, the box and all the packing and you will NEVER see those speakers again. hopefully the shipper of the speakers has the receipt. when will people understand that bubble wrap and peanuts will not work. i ship all my speakers with 2 inches of solid pink owens corning insulation. not one complaint.
  15. Chris, i am sanding my 74 corns in walnut oil with a dewalt orbital sander and it works perfectly for removing scratches and water rings. just did the same thing to my 72 corns in mahogany before i BLO them. used 120 and 180 grit paper. veneer is thin so be careful.
  16. Michael, certainlywood.com is where greg told me to look. also tapeease.com
  17. i have a pair of 70 LaScalas and my grill cloth was stretched across the front face and stapled at least 500 times after i removed the 1/4 inch molding. the face was painted black also. sounds like yours are the same.
  18. just mt 2 cents, belles are worth twice as much as cornwalls, and in pristine condition they might be worth 3 times. get the belles, no shipping no damage. i paid 2 grand for my 77's in mint condition a year ago
  19. Gary, if i recall chis kings corns are standard CDBR in cherry stain with the plywood edges exposed. you can check it out if you type in ( Decorator Corwall ) not Cornwall but Corwall, it was misspelled. i have 2 sets of Heresy decorators and one set of cornwall decorators in BR. your heresys and gregs work is stunning!!!!
  20. Michael, we are only 90 miles from each other and when i cut some i will cut some xtras for you and whoever might want some. i might do some in 1/8 and 1/4 thick. i have a sample of cane from wendell and it is fairly close. greg up in maine told me its a little tricky to get it on straight.
  21. i just removed all the innards to my newly aquired 74 vertical cornwalls in walnut with white grill cloth from forum member Phil_999. grill cloth was stained so i cut out the grill cloth to see if the motor board was stapled from the outside ( had a pair of heresys that were stapled this way ) and they were not. there is 14 screws holding the motorboard in from the inside and what looked like some liquid nails. with the front face laying down i tapped on all 4 corners and the motor board fellout. yeha!! all of this in less than an hour. you do not have to remove any insulation, again yeha!! i am taking pictures along the way for everyone to see. my plan is to make some removable grills in black cloth and cane cloth and whatever else i can come up with. gotta go look for a nice router.

One is perfect and the other is close but has a spot were the weave has been frayed. It could be fixed. I would like to keep the logos but would be happy with some others. They are black BTW. If you are interested, let me know. taylor ---------------- i'm interested if he isn't
  23. i use heresys on their sides on a shelf mounted on the side walls to go with my k-horns. the top of the heresy is 52 inches from the floor, same height as the k-horns. using a cornwall vertical center on the floor under my tv. i have a pool table so my space is limited. room size is 20X27

Let me know how that goes. We are redoing our basement now so I probably will not redo the grill of my Vert. Cornwall for another couple of months - and I would value your experience before cutting out my old cane grill. Carl, I have 74 verticals in walnut with the cloth wrapped around the motor board. my plan is to make a set of removable grills in black and cane and xtras for future use. i will let you know.
