  1. I had really hoped to make my 1000th post on this forum much more positive (at least from my perspective), but I guess it's not going to happen.... This whole "Loud and Cheap" thing honestly burns my a$$, and I don't think it''s warranted at all, and for someone that's been here for (only) 1000 posts, I think is somewhat insulting. Let's total up the asking prices of items in the garage sale section over the last say, 6 months....cheap? Hardly. Let's total up the value of those that are brave enough to show off their Home Theaters....cheap? Hardly. Let's even begin to imagine the value of the systems of those that are actively involved in this forum....cheap? Yea, right. Let's consider the Sony, Realistic, Primus, (new) Fisher, etc, etc, etc. components and speakers that have been offered (or even discussed) here......almost none.....Cheap? No. Sure, I can imagine that years ago when this forum was a very close society, if you want to call it that, that there were many great ethereal technical discussions. Fine. There are still huge amounts of great technical discussions that happen between Claude, Colter, Dean, Moray and on and on and on.....only the names (may have) change (d)........ Tastes change, fortunes change, technology certainly changes....accept it. People are looking for value, quality at a good price, a deal.....what's wrong with that? You think other forums look down on this one? Yea, so what....look at their content..... For all of those that build components for us, and all of those that trade and sell entire systems, speakers, receivers, tubes, cables, etc, etc. Thank you for all you've done for the Klipsch community and for those of us that love music and all of the fun stuff that goes along with it. Keep it going.
  2. Saw them at August Jam, Charlotte Motor Speedway, August 1974....
  3. Listing on the bay says sold for 275.
  4. Yea, not sure what the deal on those is....they've been on and off CL for several months. Cabs look pretty rough, and obvious redo on the terminals.
  5. So, would I use Neutral Howards Restor-a-Finish even thought the K-horns are walnut veneer, especially since I plan to use the Watco i do have on hand to give them a final oiling after the initial cleaning? Howards makes a Walnut Restor A Finish. I would not use the Watco after the Howards. Use the Howards Feed N Wax. JMHO
  6. I have had great success with the Howard's products on all of my speakers, walnut and oak. The Restor-A-Finish works fantastic with some 0000 steel wool. The Feed-N-Wax is great stuff. All are easy to use and high quality. http://www.howardproducts.com/products.php

  8. Believe me, if I had: 1. Corners 2. A bigger house 3. More money I'd be all over these things....but...so really, it is for a friend.
  9. Asking for a friend, what's the going rate? As stated in title, oiled oak, all original, excellent condition, willing to ship. Located in the Great Midwest....
  10. How about this? 200 though. http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/ele/4702151369.html

  12. Howard's products are good too. I have used them on all of my speakers.
  13. OK, let's take a deep breath here.....Once again, there's been a suggestion to change a component in a pair of speakers that the OP obviously knows little about....without knowing ANYTHING about what the OP listens to, their other components, their room configuration and treatment, and, whether they had planned on keeping them at all.....OR, whether they had listened to them and liked them or not....I mean really, do we construct buildings starting at the 4th floor? No, we start at the first floor, but, we look at the plans first....wow, what a revelation. Now, Mr. Phishphool...what are your plans? Other components, other speakers, room, etc, etc, and if you intend to keep them. A good start.
  14. how much are you asking for the Gold Lions.
  15. OK then, waiting for the fire to start......
  16. http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-dmpc-68-68uf-250v-polypropylene-capacitor--027-449 or buy the kit from Bob Crites with the Sonicaps and replace all of them.
  17. Yea, my "mojo" and good nature were pretty much gone by the time I walked in the door.
  18. Love the "brown" grill cloth, very classy. Nice score.
