  1. Definitely want to hear your reports, I'm on the list.....and not yet convinced.
  2. I think it's a fair price, but I am not a fan of the black finish. Every speaker I have is either walnut or dark oak, but thank you for the offer.
  3. Acorn or hickory nut eating rabbits. Doesn't everybody?
  4. I will admit right up front that I am not a woodworking illuminati, but I would think that thinning the motorboard might cause more problems than you are trying to solve. And I think the reason the horns were mounted differently in the HII's had much to do with to reducing the diffraction effects of firing through the motorboard. Honestly, I have both, and my diffraction effect sensor in my ears can't tell much of any of a difference....YMMV....
  5. Pretender: Notre Dame Eliminated this weekend: Notre Dame Is that your completely unbiased opinion? (Mich vs ND this weekend, check JJ's maize and blue avatar) What? There's a game this weekend? Oh, that's right, I have tickets! Damn, almost forgot....
  6. You guys are a hoot!, and I mean that in the kindest way possible....
  7. OK, so yea, I heard them for the first time the other day....but as said, (to me) they were pretty damn good....So, I think I would like to add them to my measly, pathetic collection....for a while at least....I have some great Heresy's, Cornwall's, vintage Pioneer SX-950 receivers, very minty oak KG 5.5's with a matching KV-3, various drivers, horns, crossovers, Def Tech Subs. Now, it's going to have to be a midwest thing. Don't really want to ship anything, but will drive a pretty good distance to do a swap.... If interested, or if you know of anyone that might want to outright sell a pair, send me a PM. Let's have some fun.
  8. Now, was that a "boat", or a "ship"??? you know what I mean...regardless, I enjoyed your comment! I thought it was highly racist and insensitive towards ships. I think he should be banned. Then ya better take me out too, i was on the Midway. USS George Washington (SSBN 598), USS Ranger, USS Enterprise The midway was after my stint in Nam, then i get out and into aerospace, will not say what subs iv been on, but many. Everyone on the midway called it the boat, as they do today, a navy thing i guess. I think you and I should talk someday, sounds like we've had very similar experiences, maybe even crossed paths....that would be cool.

  10. And I'll tell ya, you don't see very many of that vintage with the interior damping in that kind of pristine condition....they have obviously been well taken care of. Only thing is that I don't see any badges, which considering the overall condition is a little odd....

  12. Nope, fine from here....

  14. oops. guess I should scroll to the top...
  15. Yea, kind of like upgrading your guest bathroom....
  16. Reasonable price too. No affil http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/ele/4649641271.html
  17. They do look nice and clean, but agree quite high. Probably trying to recover a good percentage of the upgrade cost.
  18. Well ok, try this, leave the ill informed to their own thoughts on how Ohm's law works. Been in Ham radio since the age of 10, pretty much makes that 50+ years. Last job: Trident II D5 "D5"? I do know what Trident II might be....
  19. Not sure that the spammer...sorry, seller....would know the difference between a #1 and a #2 anyway.....
  20. I had offered you a demo of my personal chorus ii's a couple months ago(my preferred mains). If your impressed by stock chorus ii the clarity and thump my chorus ii's provide would be a step above or more. Anyhow cheers on your chorus ii demo. In my opinion out of any klipsch ever made the chorus ii and the epic cf4 are truly in a league of their own. Then with mods they go beyond anything(although iv only heard stock cf4's) I have ever heard or truly prove their value at a fraction of many other manufacturers models by quite a bit, imo Its amazing to demo all that klipsch has. Everybody has their own take with preference in sound and klipsch tailors to this variety with the variety of klipsch models Well Beek, I had forgotten about that, and I thank you for it!! One of these days....
  21. First of all, I didn't realize the size of those beasts....they don't look that big in pictures....but, they were mighty impressive! Pretty well balanced overall, but they do definitely thump....Didn't buy them as I thought they were WAY overpriced relative to what I've seen here on the forum and elsewhere, but at least now I know....And, interestingly and coincidentally, they were driven by a Marantz 2270B receiver, which I saw for sale earlier in the Garage Sale (not the same one)......nice unit.
  22. I was wondering the same, but didn't sound like it from the description.....
