  1. And doing it without personally attacking each other. Yes that too.
  2. I was referring to this at the top of the lounge section. NOTE: Topics covering sensitive issues such as race, religion, or politics have no place here and will likely be locked by moderators at their discretion. Normally red vs blue topics get blown out pretty fast. "Discretion" is the key word there, and there are a number of factors, historically, that will determine whether something gets shut down or not.
  3. You have it right. No race, no religion, no politics, no sexual orientation. Biblical references have been discussed, but only as a historical reference. Recently there was a brief mention as it related to a discussion about a piece of art. Politics is off limits. The question is what is "politics" or "political." It varys from day to day, and who is moderating. Typically, a person who is astute enough to avoid the proper name of a candidate can discuss politics and remain below the radar. You will have no problem. For example, this thread quickly turned political. People's views tend to fall in line with one of two major political ideologies. People on here are finally starting to learn how to have a discussion without mentioning the name of a political party.
  4. You keep quoting/linking to zerohedge, what's up with that? Now if that robot will drop it in an autonomus vehicle and deliver it to your door you will really have something. I do? I guess the article was relevant to this topic. Besides, 4 posts up from yours is a link to a different site. I linked that one because it was relevant to what Oldtimer had posted. And I think you should keep your idea quiet lest someone steal it and make it a reality. Google or Amazon comes to mind. DRONEBURGER. Yes you do.https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/160218-do-you-know-someone-with-cancer/?fromsearch=1 Hmm...so by my count, I've got two links to zerohedge and several more to other sites. All of them relevant to the topics. I've either got an admirer or a stalker. Which is it? Wait, don't answer. I don't care. Let's stay on topic. Neither, just an observation. I am sort of cursed with this memory quirk where I see repeating patterns in people.

  6. Do you know how much it costs to live on the West Coast? There is a reason most of the Bay Area municipalities have passed their own minimum wage laws years ago.

  8. What do you expect from college kids? They have been working on that for years, I guess they wanted to do it in one big batch.
  9. Say hello to Maurice, he's the pompitus of love.
  10. I think Luther may have been involved in some phase of doing that once. Seems to me they were put on a pallet and professionally wrapped.
  11. Which is exactly what the DX 38 manual calls for. I have never heard of anyone having or using the transformer module option on a DX-38. Did he say what amps and preamp he is planning on using?
  12. Which means you completely ignored this description of what a hum is, how to find it, and what 'curing symptoms' is. So are you saying a hum or a buzz is only caused by a particular piece of equipment having an internal problem?
  13. It must really suck to be on your "radar".
  14. So I guess it was an email between Al and John?
  15. Who the hell is Alexander Tyler? A history professor where? If you are refering to the Scottish historian, Tytler, he never said what you claim about the evolution of a democracy. I am positive about that. What I am not so sure is whether the quote you have in this post about De Tocqueville is accurate. It doesn't sound like him but it has been over 35 yeats since I have read him.
  16. Thanks for the suggestion. My son is young and a lifetime warranty would last a long time for him, not so long for me! I'll do some research, but I've seen the Ridgid brand before and they are always highly rated. I'd like to see exactly what the "Lifetime Service Agreement with Registration" means. Here is a link to Ridgid 18v drill at HD and saying lifetime warranty on drill and batteries.http://m.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-1-2-in-Cordless-Compact-Drill-Driver-Kit-R86008K2/205896703/?cm_mmc=cem|ridgid|r|07012015|buynow

I like Dewalt: "DEWALT understands that buying American products and building the American economy are important to our customers. DEWALT is now offering a selection of more than 600 different power tool, hand tool and accessory products that are being made right here in the USA using materials and components from all over the world."
  18. Calculating Annual Inflation Rates Annual rates of inflation are calculated using 12-month selections of the BLS’s Consumer Price Index. For example, to calculate the inflation rate for April 2015, take its CPI of "236.599" and subtract from it last year’s April 2014 CPI of "237.072." The result is "-0.473." Divide this number by the April 2014 CPI and then multiply that by 100 and add a % sign. The result is April’s annual inflation rate of -0.2%.
  19. Where do you get your facts? "In the United States, unadjusted Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers is based on the prices of a market basket of: food (14 percent of total weight), energy (9.3 percent), commodities less food and energy commodities (19.4 percent) and services less energy services (57.3 percent). The last category is divided by: shelter (32.1 percent), medical care services (5.8 percent) and transportation services (5.5 percent)." From the BLS: What goods and services does the CPI cover? The CPI represents all goods and services purchased for consumption by the reference population (U or W) BLS has classified all expenditure items into more than 200 categories, arranged into eight major groups. Major groups and examples of categories in each are as follows: FOOD AND BEVERAGES (breakfast cereal, milk, coffee, chicken, wine, full service meals, snacks) HOUSING (rent of primary residence, owners' equivalent rent, fuel oil, bedroom furniture) APPAREL (men's shirts and sweaters, women's dresses, jewelry) TRANSPORTATION (new vehicles, airline fares, gasoline, motor vehicle insurance) MEDICAL CARE (prescription drugs and medical supplies, physicians' services, eyeglasses and eye care, hospital services) RECREATION (televisions, toys, pets and pet products, sports equipment, admissions); EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION (college tuition, postage, telephone services, computer software and accessories); OTHER GOODS AND SERVICES (tobacco and smoking products, haircuts and other personal services, funeral expenses). Also included within these major groups are various government-charged user fees, such as water and sewerage charges, auto registration fees, and vehicle tolls. In addition, the CPI includes taxes (such as sales and excise taxes) that are directly associated with the prices of specific goods and services. However, the CPI excludes taxes (such as income and Social Security taxes) not directly associated with the purchase of consumer goods and services. The CPI does not include investment items, such as stocks, bonds, real estate, and life insurance. (These items relate to savings and not to day-to-day consumption expenses.)
  20. Marsha Ball is playing in Dallas on December 4th I believe, you wanna go?
  21. Now your talking, Texas Blues, some great stuff. Do you already have all of the old stuff and just looking for current bands?
  22. December 26'th. Carl, That used to always be the case, but I think I read somewhere that because of the advent of the "gift card" the prices don't drop like the used to, except of course on Christmas cards and decorations. Kids start using their gift cards in the malls following Christmas while they are still off from school. I heard the end of the year is
  23. Buy them a vintage 3 wheel ATC, probably safer. Or bowling, miniture golf. Better yet, buy them an ipad and let them play video games, then they can hire more Chinese workers for less than 15 a month, to build them. Seriously, there are many exceptions, typically an under 18 exception to minimim wage, and a 90 day exemption, and a farm worker exemption, etc. I don't think the trampoline workers of America have anything to worry about. School Districts and Police Departments on the other hand are probably freaking out, they might actualky have to start out paying people $20 an hour plus benefits.
