  1. Nuttin' there at the moment (?) Check the one titled "Location" for a new entry today.
  2. Unless you have a lot of time and patience to set them up correctly, I'd take with one 600.00 sub over two 300.00 subs anyday. The more expensive sub will dig lower with more authority than the two cheaper subs. It's also much easier to callibrate one sub than two. In addition, you want your receiver to handle all of the crossover duties if possible and disable the crossover on the sub.
  3. The spikes are made to pierce the carpet and help couple the sub to the floor.
  4. I am also looking for something in this price range and here are the three company's that I am looking at. http://av123.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=265&category_id=9&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=37 http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/Products.html http://www.edesignaudio.com/index.php?cPath=2_41 I do believe that these are the best bang for the buck but THE EAR really is the man to ask. James 3 good choices.
  5. Not using the subs? Forgo the subs?? In a mostly HT system??? Next to your center channel, your sub makes the most impact in a HT. Don't think for a minute that your mains are handling the LFE adequately.
  6. Cut him some slack. It was his first post. He most likely found it in a search and didn't notice the date.
  7. Very moving, thanks for the link. I've since forwarded it.
  8. Agreed, check out Epik or Elimental Designs subs.
  9. http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/CastleOverview.html Epik has tremendous "bang" for your subwoofer buck.
  10. apparatti apparatti apparatti
  11. I'm embarrased that this didn't happen in the US first. We must be slipping.
  12. I use a BIC lighter[:$]
  13. Now imagine building that over 100 years ago.
  14. Crutchfield has outstanding customer service. They should be a good company to align with.
  15. RF-7's can be very demanding on an amp as they have an impedance drop below 3 Ohms at certain frequencies. They also need a good bit of power to drive their woofers with authority. I wouldn't think they would lend themselves to tubes as well as some of the Heritage lines. Others may differ, but I'd put a 100 to 200 wpc to them.
  16. Sounds like you're not getting a signal to the sub amp. Be sure you haven't changed any settings in your receiver. Make sure the sub is set to "on" in your receiver setup menu no matter what size your mains are set to. Check the connections at the receiver and sub amp. If you have a spare RCA cable, possibly try swapping it out.
  17. I believe Panamax and Furman are under the same corporate umbrella.
  18. If it's basically the same amp but with 35 more watts per channel, I'd save my money. If it's a different class of amp then that might be a different story.
