  1. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/74353/732487.aspx#732487 Let me point out this thread that has been copied and printed and hanging on my wall for some time now. Check out what Duke Spinner has to say. I'm playing with a couple QSC's right now and they are a blast.
  2. The only noise coming from anywhere near the Peach is the "too big of a fan" I just installed on my QSC 1400..[] This Audio stuff is a riot.
  3. And then there was "high current"...another variable. Forgot about that one.
  4. Nice score Winchester.......
  5. Good point..... I never really thought about that Fritz, all along I thought the change was from swapping speakers. I'm still trying to figure out Mikes reply.....too technical for me.
  6. So you tried a seperate amp on the front 3 speakers and it didn't make a difference?
  7. So I give the guy $50.00 and he gives me a QSC 1400 that stomps the bass out of these RF-7's. It's not nearly refined as the Conrad Johnson Sonographe sound and I'm yet to swap it out and put in the PLX 1202 just to see how it compares. Until now I've never really heard the difference between the sound of amps and the last few days has been most interesting. Whether it's the amount of power they put out or maybe the technology, heck I dunno' anyone else heard a difference between amps?
  8. fascinating..........I'll finish this later.
  9. Indyklipschfan has a few LaScalas up front but I don't remember what he was using for rears. All I remember it was a LOT of sound and he is extremely happy with his Sunfire equipment last I heard.
  10. That is a very cool looking stereo receiver, interesting to hear tone controls are not needed.
  11. That meat man reminds me of "Alex the Butcher", a local grocery commercial guy advertising the meat dept.
  12. I don't know why not and if it's like my 4.2's it will be very easy to replace.
  13. I certainly don't want to contradict a customer praising the product - - - but, if I could phrase this differently: It doesn't take the edge off, it simply never puts an edge ON. Big difference (to me). We don't intend with a modern tube design to artificially warmup, or ease off, or take any edge of any highs. We simply try to let it BE unmolested, and not add any smear, odd harmonics, or IM distortion. I think antique tube preamps often DO take the edge off because they have barely acceptable "speed" in the line stages and thus sound soft. The JM preamps are quite fast and use the MINIMAL number of active devices in the signal chain. Less devices = more clarity. Sure appreciate the explanation Mark......[8]
  14. I was just thinking the same Spiderman thing.
  15. It is very much something to look forward to after working all day, the realism of the music is out of this world. Anybody on the fence about trying a tube preamp with their stuff really ought to give it a whirl. Pretty much takes the edge off and is much more listenable....[Y]
  16. ..................with my new/used Peach of course. For now it's the QSC PLX 1202 and the Peach with the Denon 2900 on my RF-7's and it is soooo different. Miss the tone controls? that was my biggest fear but no way no how. Seems I'm hearing a lot more in the upper registers with much better imaging. The classical jazz/ instrumental I've been listening to all these years has taken a turn for the better. Every disc I play, I hear something new. My only complaint, if any, would be a tiny one, the bass seems to be just a little bit "rounded" meaning it does not have the slam of the lower notes, but that's OK because the highs are out of this world.
  17. Bah Humbug....[N] all gone, not replenishing supplies.
  18. Lately the wife and I have been on a pizza kick. Boy, the frozen pizzas sure have changed in the last 25 years. Haven't quite graduated to making my own but these are quick and simple. A few restaurants locally serve them as well.
  19. Once it warms up that would really be worth the effort. The 39's.......wow.
  20. I read somewhere B&K mates well w/ Klipsch among many, many others. Hopefully someone else with first hand experience can chime in and point you in the right direction. I'm just a two channel stereo guy.
  21. Try using a seperate amp and use the Denon as a Preamp, you really will be surprised. Good luck in your quest for enjoyment.
  22. Maybe something watertight? That's a heck of a boat.......I have done some fishing in my past and my brother is still head over heels deep in fishing.
  23. When you guy's were playing the jazz-ish sort of music what speakers and amp was he using? Curious because I thought Heritage was a delicate listening type of speaker.
