  1. Lexus used to offer a really high dollar Levinson system in their cars.
  2. Give a tube preamp a whirl and see what you think. I have the amp amd speakers, now the next step will be to try a tube preamp.
  3. "String bass in my gut" now that sounds good to me, maybe someday I'll hear the VRD's with my Rf-7's. ......carry on.
  4. Demented flying saucer is right...lol. Lately I've been drooling over bicycles on the market because someone here mentioned them a few weeks ago. My wife does not know how to ride and is scared to death of falling, big woopie doo that's how you learn. Maybe a tandem or a tricycle for her....Mmmmmm. Boy those disc brakes are amazing on a bike.
  5. Did you try it without the fan? Mine runs cool as a cucumber.
  6. I want to live in southern California ....[] Killer looking off roader, Pirannah.
  7. http://cyclepath.com/bikespeak/index.cfm?forumid=1 A few weeks ago someone here pointed out they frequent a Bicycle forum and I visited that link, way too much hostility with a couple ding dongs so I found this one above. They are really nice and the forum is a bit slow but the good thing is my interest in bicycles has skyrocketed, so now I'm thinking about getting started in bicycles again after a 30+ years of "doing other things".
  8. Nice looking bikes posted around here[Y] Lately I've been looking into getting back into bicycling after many years of doing other things for a hobby. I see technology has come a loooong way with disc and hydraulic brakes, suspensions and general options available for bicycles. Trying to decide between between a single speed or geared bike will be the toughest decision to make. Boy oh boy they make some mighty nice looking bikes!
  9. If one appears around Indianapolis I just may have to go. I have always been curious about those events.
  10. They dropped the price of the C-4's to $300.00 each and I could not see any scratches gouges or any blemishes. Seems like they were a light color, maybe oak or something with even less grain. I heard them with a small NAD integrated and they sounded fine to me. Not sure about the price of the 83's.
  11. Arky or anyone, Oh man, just last night I was sitting here playing on the computer listening to some music being played from the other room. I could hear every instrument so clearly, I'm done looking for a while until it's time to spend the big bucks for some huge monoblocks, and that day may never come. Still cool as a cucumber without the fan and easy on the electricity too.
  12. Hey Michael, I picked them up at work because they were going to the trash and I guess they are being used throughout the bldg. They do look just like car coaxial speakers. Appreciate it guy's.
  13. That's a riot. When state workers were in full force many years ago it was not uncommon to see six guys digging one hole in the ground. Only one worker was using a shovel, the other five would stand around and watch.
  14. Thanks, two clips and a snip to remove that transformer. Maybe I'll hook them up to my in home stereo and see what they sound like, the curiosity continues.
  15. They are like brand new and have some sort of square transformer ? hanging off one side.
  16. These are Altec Lansing 309-4T coaxial speakers I think. What could two of these be used for and why all the colored wires.
  17. Did you grab the CF-4's from southside Ovation Audio in Indy? if so they are in really nice shape, just need a little dusting.
  18. Started with the Denon 100 watt stereo receiver then added a 120 watt CJ Sonograph amp then on to the 200 watt QSC. Each change made a big difference for the better.
  19. I have the special packaging that will make sure it gets delivered to your house quicker.
  20. An old guy I used to work with was proud to say: Ladies and gentlemen, hobos and tramps, cross eyed mosquitos and four legged ants....[] He was a kind, but odd fellow.lol.
  21. I understand clipping is quite obvious to hear, I never heard it either. if you decide to throw them more power or even go with seperates be prepared to hear a difference, I did. []
  22. When I switched from an old Conrad Johnson SS amp to a QSC SS amp, the thumping stopped.
  23. Well, for less than one half the original retail price that sounds like a good deal.
