  1. Good job. The academy is seamless as a center, that's what you want. The 2.2 is simply not the same. Enjoy! Did you get a sub yet? (excuse me if i missed something in a prior post).
  2. Beware if you listen to Mallette's khorns in that little room. There will be no turning back, and you will learn the true meaning of awesome near field listening.
  3. Dtel would be a good source. Leland cypresses as you say grow very fast. If you took one out as necessary, depending upon original spacing, the others would grow to fill the gap pretty quickly. I had a landscaper draw up a plan for me once, he wanted to put in the lelands as a barrier all around the back and up half the sides of the property. I used nellie r. stevens hollies instead. Haven't lost one yet, they are one tough shrub that get up to 20 feet high.
  4. Cool winchester, I've always wanted a one of those spartan mid 70's 911's. They used to be fairly inexpensive but it seems my idea caught on with lots of others too.
  5. Pranksters A+ Porche owners D- (nothing new to an alfa owner)
  6. Isn't the english language grand? If you can read that is. Operating a screw driver has nothing to do with it.
  7. Those must be the basset horns, so called because their bent bodies resemble the noble french hound's ears, or is it vice versa? I did not see or hear any flutes in the 25 seconds sampled. Why did he use basset horns? Not sure, but i would guess it was something personal. They do sound perfect for the part.
  8. It's a dangerous thing to ask people to think. That being said I will go to the link now.
  9. "People may not believe my gut." That's what the twins told me. Except they believe it. Who am I to object?
  10. Mine are about 8.5 feet apart from inner side to inner side as near to the corners as the room dictates, about 8 feet from listening position.
  11. You think too much dtel. (that's a compliment)
  12. Nooooooooooooooo. Don't cross over to the dark side!
  13. The shielding issue will depend on your circumstances and you will know fairly immediately. Definitely a foot or less will show the problem. A center which has no shielding issues to the immediate side of the screen is not too bad at all especially if you can center it as much as possible, i.e. offset the screen to one side so the center speaker is not too close to the right or left main.
  14. On the case I think the house with 2 flags on top means gale force winds, small craft warning. OK maybe its not a house but a girl with stumpy legs, but the meaning of the flags is clear.
  15. forte II's better be mint at 500 but the build quality is very good and the sound is way above its price. I paid 525 for some very mint forte II's a few years ago and well, I have 3 pair of this model. A center for the klf's would be the klf c7 I think and the center for the forte II is the academy both of which are not real common, but there are other alternatives if you have the space. The forte II's are very easy to drive, and like any speaker really shine with quality amplification.
  16. Basically, yeah. You can read all about it here: www.afireinc.com The idea was to get ginger and mary ann dependent upon my, well, umm, cooking.
  17. check out the steinway website or ask greg928s. It should take forever to get the right black piano finish.
  18. I'm just glad you meant 10 years since joining here and not something else...
  19. Depending on the tv you must also remember that heresies or any of the heritage speakers are not magnetically shielded, and will cause picture problems with a crt display.
  20. It's good that the heresies are right next to each other for the purpose, rather than separated. I still fail to see any real point behind using two. The best set up if you were running two would be to stack one on top of the other inverted to create a d'appolito array, avoiding any unwanted effects of side by side. (Or of course tweeter to tweeter if on their sides)
  21. Exactly how is everything connected at the moment? It is generally not a good idea to run external speakers such as through a receiver and the tv speakers through the tv at the same time, as you will be getting frequency/harmonic interferences. The bottom line is to use one center and run everything through the same processing source (turn those tv speakers off).
