  1. Studiovv, Welcome to the forum! Get used to your thread getting hijacked. Be patient, eventually your questions will be answered.
  2. Ok, I'll bite. Why keep the wires the same length?
  3. I remember someone making Belle style grills for his Las. It was nicknamed the LaBelle. (I'm not sure if the first name was Patty.) They posted pics and it looked very nice. Unfortunately, I can't remember who it was!

(Although, I have long since forgotten all of the math to back it up!) I was a little confused when he had water boiling at " 212F/110C (STP)" but later he used " exactly 212F/100C(STP)" so the first one was obviously a typo. I guess need to get out more!

Those Victoria Secret bras work, and danicing around the house in them to music always brightens my day too! hehehehehe ---------------- Roger, I thought you were wearing the bra! Now I understand!
  6. Now there is a pair that need more LaScalas!
  7. Here is a link to a table showing the wire size required for different run lengths.
  8. Hello and welcome to the forum! While this is the Technical Questions section you would probably get an answer quicker in the ProMedia section a little further down on the forum home page. Good Luck!
  9. Big speaker, must need a big amp!
  10. A balanced connection uses a signal wire, an inverted signal wire and a ground wire. The basic idea is that the receiving end takes the signal minus the inverted signal and any common mode noise that is picked up in the cable is canceled out.
  11. There are several very good threads in the archives on veneering.
  12. Congratulations! Glad to hear that it worked out all right! I don't want to sound simplistic but how about chrome polish for the chrome and glass cleaner for the tubes?
  13. Klipsch speakers sound good at any volume when fed a good signal. You have the equipment to feed them a good signal. As far as your room size, I am running Khorns in a 14'x25' room and love them. Heresy IIs are available new. Are you looking for new?
  14. KlipsDude correcting Roger's grammar, that's rich!
  15. It's called a standard 19" rack for a reason! They can be as deep as you like.
  16. I think it is more like mono cheap. You really want L+R and that is L-R but, you dont have to pay much to get it! Edit: Yes, those speakers are in series.
  17. I wonder if it has any "digital harshness" due to its roots?
  18. Hello and welcome to the forum! How does bi-wire work? - Poorly in my opinion. (Just want to let you know where I stand so you can take the rest of my statements with that background in mind.) The idea is to run 2 sets of cables between 1 amplifier channel and the speaker. Some claim that this allows the bass frequencies to travel along one set of cables without interfering with the high frequencies because they are going down the second cable. I have no idea how the electrons know which path they should take. So, it is like bi-amping, if you leave out the second amp and the active crossover. I can see how you would think it is a fantastic, if not necessity, idea when you are selling $120 cables!

Second, if your supposition is correct, they need to accurately specify how they really want their beans handled! I think that the "secrecy buzz" factor that came out of the pilgrimage is exactly the type of thing marketing types love prior to a major announcement!
  20. I think you will find Colin's response in this thread helpful.
  21. Hello and welcome to the forum! The Cornwall is an 8 ohm speaker.
  22. First, welcome to the forum! I have never owned Las but since no one else seems to be responding to your questions I will put my $0.02 in the pot. From what I have read here the AL3s are better xovers than the ALs. If you are going to get new xovers for whever pair you get then it doesnt matter. I don't know why you think the '83s might have better drivers. I the conversion from alnico to ceramic was complete at least a couple years earlier so I would not expect that much difference in the drivers. Could you be more specific? You don't need to buy the upgraded xovers on ebay. You can get a hold of Bob on this forum - his moniker is BEC. Good Luck!
  23. Trey, I am hurt that you bet against us! You think the current guessing games don't constitute marketing? I think it is interesting that most of the roomers seem to have come from the Klipsch authorized dealers!
