  1. I swapped the crossovers with these drivers and I love these speakers. I bought new K-33's that I plan to swap in soon.
  2. Having done this upgrade on some '78 La Scalas and purchasing from Bob, it was well worth it. Bob took care of me when I had issues, even sending me out a new driver to try without payment. I'd recommend buying from the source.
  3. I ran 3 in my theater where 2 did not cut it. Worked out amazingly.
  4. I have a pair of K-55-M's and AlNiCo K-77's from my La Scalas.

Here are my current toys: 2005 STi: Roll racing The Blue Turd, right before he was able to get the turbo spooling and ran right past me: 2004 S2000 (track car): I do a good bit of tuning cars as well: I also used to have an SHO years ago. Vortech supercharged on E85. Right around 550whp.
  6. I've got a set of upgraded '78 La Scalas with a sub I built (cylinder sub with a 12" sub from an RW-12d) and I can't get enough of it. I'm surprised how well the smallish sub fills in the lows.
  7. For anyone following my previous posts on the Taurus SHO, 1320 Video posted a video on it a couple days ago. Also, you can catch it on Netflix in a week!
  8. What am I wrong about? Are you not old? Have you not lost some range in your hearing? Sound and "best" are subjective. I am more of a data guy... This conversation is absurd. What I like in sound, you may not... And vice versa.
  9. Why is this still going? Most of the people talking about sound quality and differences here are probably old and lost a significant portion of their hearing... Just saying.
  10. A little bit of column A and a little bit of column B.
  11. I saw those when I purchased a different pair out here. The appearance is what steered me away. I also prefer a more, stock-look.
  12. I have 14AWG OFC wire... I don't really feel like my system is lacking. Especially not in any way to got buy new wire so my wife can look at me like a dumbass while trying to discern any sort of difference, which I doubt I'd hear. I also have a background in EP.
  13. Having been in the military for almost 20 years, "Military Spec" buzz-wording doesn't mean the same to me as the general public. That said, there is no reason my speaker cable should cost more than my speakers.
  14. I have been using an Outlaw Audio wireless transmitter for years. I have not had any issues with it.
  15. That would have been cool! Everything was very last minute. We ran in Denver and found oiling issues and lost a motor. The next day, we went to Vegas for a few days and then when we got back, he had a 2-day drive back to Atlanta. From there, he needed a new motor, new clutch, and a few other things. I had plane tickets with insurance and we didn't know until the day before that it was going to be reality. The new motor had not even been tested, but was sent it anyway! It was 2 weeks between events... He extremely determined! I do look forward to what we do in the future. I am hoping to make this my career and quit my day job. I've been tuning for probably 15 years, but only recently made it a business and feel like I am finally in a position in life to take the leap... But it would be awesome! This was posted today...
  16. That's scary. On the way to Denver, from Atlanta, my buddy had a blowout on the trailer above. He ended up changing it in the dark, on the side of the road. I just put new tires on my trailer, but I generally carry a spare. My trailer isn't quite as nice, but I have a couple cars to trailer around to the tracks:
  17. You can't rely on a 3.2L Taurus motor to drive you across country, race it, then have it bring you back. :p
  18. It's not really a street car, however, what we have done with it, it hasn't overheated.
  19. FWD. Engine block fillers are something drag racers use due to the crazy amount of power they run. It keeps the cylinders from flexing and cracking. This SHO is running north of 1,000whp, I'd imagine. I say that because I don't have a dyno of the 27 PSI I ran it at that day in 3rd gear, but I do have a dyno of the 20-21 PSI level, making 830whp.

  21. Yep. We were at SCT Denver, 2 weeks prior. We spun a bearing there and got a new motor built and in just in time to make this event (we went to Vegas in between and then the owner had to drive 2 days back to Atlanta, from Denver). It still has a Yamaha motor, but with a custom intake. We've also got aluminum rods in this and the block is 3/4 filled with concrete. There should be another 1320 Video feature on this car, very soon... Which will be the third. Also, we'll be on Netflix with this car in the fall.
  22. I did not get this today, but we did finally get 9's in the Taurus SHO I tune this past Sunday in Indy.
  23. I couldn't help myself... I got some garage speakers. Built in 1982 and already has a Crites capacitor replacement. I will only refinish these, but all the drivers seem to be in great condition.
