Yes a good quality amp and good speaker wire is not an option to get the maximum out of high quality speakers. The amps in most recievers(read 98% of all recievers)are of poor quality.These amps are recomended for 8 ohms speakers and start giving up with 4 ohms loads! And its not all these amps sound often edgy(pushed hard),all have poor damping,distortion and claimed specs are clownish. I recomend a good reciever with 5.1 or 7.1 outs(Yamaha 2000,Denon 3801)and then to add a real good 5 channel power amp.ATI is one of the few that dont cost too much and give very good(damn good)performance. Just dont belive the peeps who will tell you amps sound the same,its NOT true.The amplifier is a crucial piece in the overall sound quality puzzle. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Wired1 I would add you will be pleased with the Krell/Klipsch combo.I will get soon the RF-7's and the RC-7 center!And then the ATI 2505 and 1505 will be used to bi-amp the RF series. Talk about real power,this is what I love about Klipsch.Music must have power,I dont like the tiny audiophile speakers like say ProAc mini monitors that cant play at realistic levels. Dynaudio can,and belive me you need WATTS and many. So Wired1 enjoy the new Klipsch/Krell system and remember this YOU NEED A SOLID BREAK IN PERIOD,after 100-150 hours of use at medium volume you will begin to take the full advantage of you system. Good headphones? I have a few very good,Sennheiser 565 Ovation, Sennheiser HD6000 and Grado RS-1.And the Koss PortaPro for the portable AIWA walkman(old old old and good good good). Talking about electrostatic the Stax Omega series with the matching tube amp is the very finest headphones at any price.The transparency is total,its THE headphone to have of money is no object and if you must hear the recording's every detail. For the dollar the HD600 outperform any mass market units hands down.If more exotica you want then the Grados Reference series are superb with the help of a dedicated headpone amp. Come on Klipsch,you have a finished product,you even showed us the pics.Where are the specs?The amplifier technology is nothing revolutionary,so there should be no problems at all.If you have any just ask THE MAN,and I name Bob Carver to design amps for the RSW series.His amps are 100% proven and DONT FAIL(I know I have 3 Sunfires(subs),2 Carvers(sub,amp).I pushed these and never had any problems. Krell/Klipsch not good! Ha who says? Its BS,let me tell you Krell amps match with any speakers.Krell NOT a good combination with Klipsch. LOL I have a big Krell FPB600 and it matches with any speakers(including the RF-5's I just got).So dont listen to some who dont know. Krell makes the world's best solid state amps,bring on any competitor.What ? Marke Levinson LOL bring them all on I say. I dare anyone to challenge my FPB600. The system would be great,in the lower price range.The RF-3's while great budget speakers are a bit edgy.I would spend a bit more and get the RF-5.You will not regret the upgrade.And The KSW15 is ok for a mid sized room,I would even wait and get a RSW12. Now if you get a great deal on the KSW15(like I did)get it,you may one day use this sub for your PC! TheEAR(s) Now theears

Denon VCR?!?! Nope never saw any I have a Mitsubishi U76 SVHS plus a JVC HRS9800U SVHS. The JVC HRS9800U is my main VCR. TheEAR(s) Now theears

To answer the question I would go with the Denon 4802. The amp section is better. For those who must have the bonus front channels then the Yam 3000 is a great choice. Ah I prefer my 5800. 5800 with the ATI 2505 now we are talking. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Acurus makes good power amps.The 200*5 should deliver the extra power and give you a much better grip(control)then any reciever can.This is the end means better sound.And is this not what any Klipsch owner is after? I am quite sold to Denon recievers,prefer them to Yamaha.Its a personal choice.Both are great sounding recievers.Marantz and B&K also make very high class units. The 4802 is a smaller 5800.Notice the central toroid and heatsinks on the sides.Like the 5800.The built quality is good and you have all the features you need for a great HT system.Even the internam amps are ok! Of course the Acurus will outperform even the 5800 amp section with relative ease. As you noticed I like ATI amps,superb value for the dollar.The 1505 is a 5 x 225W @ 4 ohms and the 2505 will give 5 x 375 @ 4 ohms!Power to feed any hungry speakers.I plan to go bi amping as soon as I complete the Klipsch RF series HT system. The ATI 1505 will power the upper range and the 2505 the lower! Think about the power and freedom from any peaking.This may be too much but its my way of doing things. Back to Denon recievers,even the 3802 can serve as the centerpiece od a good HT system if paired with say at least an Outlaw 5 channel power amp. So your Acurus is a great choice and with the Denon 4802 I dont see how you may need much more. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Right on HornEd,a well balanced Klipsch system with good amplification and great susbs will outperform just about any movie theater. I am in the process of seting up my second HT system,I just got the RF-5's and will get the RF-7's and RC-7 as soon as Klipsch sends them to Canadian dealers(or as soon as they can order them). I reconfigured my sound systems this weekend.Lots of moving,the amps are killing my back.DUH My main HT system now is an all Dynaudio Contour setup(minus the subs).The mains are the Contour 3.3,Contour Ceneter for you guessed center and Contour 1.1's serve sourround duties. The subs are the Aerial Acoustics SW12(I can pit this sub against your Ultra,bass quality that is)and the Revel B15.I matched the two subs so they work as a team and not against each other. The heart of this system is for now the Denon 5800 used as a pre/pro only(was used with my main conputer system LOL).The amps are all SimAudio Celeste.The 4250 drives the mains,the 4150 the sourrounds and the 4070 bridged mono drives the center. The room is treated so I get most of these wonderful speakers.The result makes all visitors pause and just marvel.Pure music and when Gladiator or the Matrix is in the DVD its breathtaking.Sound so good no movie theater is even close. To my ears the RF series sounds better(minus the RF-3). I find the RF-3 harsh at high volumes,the KLF30 is much less agressive in comparison! The RF-5 is another story,I am still breaking these wonderful speakers in and the sound is better and better.Even fresh out of the box the sound is good! Any good speaker needs a break in,someting tells me the RF-7's will be even better. From what I remember I prefer the RF-5's to the KLF30. And I did listen to the big KLF with very high quality gear(over $20000 worth,Sugden Master Class!). I will go then with the RF-5 and 7,two great Klipsch speakers. TheEAR(s) Now theears

The Klipsch RF-7 series are the start of a great HT system,the RSW15 sub should round the pckage well. While the Yamaha 3000 is a nice reciever I would add a REAL amp to it to really show what the RF series can do for you.May I recomend the ATI 1505,it outperforms the Yamaha amp wit ease. 7.5/10 if you keep the system as it is 8.5/10 if you add the ATI 1505 Yes its worth it,you will need a 15AMP outlet! Klipsch designs great speakers,the RF series are the best Klipsch I heard so far.This more of an audiophile point of view here. I like my RF-5's alot,when you have a great front end and a solid power amp like the Celeste 4250SE then you will know just how great the RF-5's are. I find the RF-3's agressive! The RF-5's are not agressive at all! Cant wait for the RF-7's,the RF-5's will end up as sourrounds! Glad you ask oogins The Sunfire subs are very underrated,they are amazing true subs in tiny cube cabinets.Bob Carver is a a pioneer in the audio world. The Sunfire Junior is a 9" CUBE! YES 9" cubed! Imagine this this sub is about the same size as the Labtec Pulse 424 bass module!The comparison end HERE. When you pick the Junior up it weighs about 30lbs!The weight is is the active driver.The magnetic structure is HUGE for a 8" driver(more like 6"). Now you must wonder DOES IT PERFORM? LOL Does it ever!This minute cube has solid bass response down to 25Hz!And can fill a mid sized room with REAL bass.To top it all there is no trace of boominess,no nasty colorations.The bass is clean and tight! All I can say is if you have very high quality monitor speakers this little wonder is for you. I have the Dunaudio Contour 1.1's matched with the Junior,its a combination that will shock you.The quality and quantity is all there. Of course this is no Revel B15,HGS18 or Ultra much less a Krell Master Reference sub. Still nothing is even close in this price range and size. If you want to fill a mid-to large room with bass then the Sunfire Mark II is a great alternative.11" CUBE,weighs about 50lbs and has a MASSIVE 10" driver with a 30lbs(at least) magnetic structure.This mini monster can make you sick from too much bass! And if you want the most powerful minisub in the world,one that can come close to the HGS15 and Revel the Signature is your answer.This is a 13" CUBE with a monster 12" active driver. The Mark II and Signature have drivers capable of 2.5" peak to peak excursions!This is massive. TheEAR(s) Now theears

Thanks for the welcome Boa.I registered and did not even post here. By now I would have a healthy 3000 posts,as I am a heavy duty poster! Well I ended up on the Neoseeker audio forum.Not many audiophiles there,just a couple of die hard ones. You will see more from TheEAR(s)here trust me. Yes the Velodyne HGS18 is a beast,its king of low,has BIG output and can even serve if cut very low(40Hz)as a music sub. I did listen to this great sub at home,I also had the HGS12.I ended up buying the Revel B15,as much output as the HGS18.For music the Revel takes the win,and foor HT its a tie.Both will shake the house and scare the roaches away! SVS makes great subs no doubt,but Aerial Avoustics makes the SW12 and its as musical and clean as the SVS Ultra.The bad thing it costs 5 grand,and has less output then a pair of SVS Ultras that go for $3000 with the amp!So I would say the SVS Ultra is a High-End bargain. The HSU VTF2 will do the trick,inexpensive and has plenty of output for HT.I dont like it as a music sub,its ok but not to TheEAR(s) standard. I guess for $600 or less this is about as good as it gets. Wait a minute the Paradigm PW2200 comes to mind!This great sub can be had for $600 and less with ease.The PW2200 outperforms the HSU VTF2 on music.Both have a BIG output when you consider the price. Still for me only the Aerial Acoustics SW12 does the trick with music.Its like a SVS Ultra with much better finish(cabinet),the Revel B15 and Sunfires subs provide the HT impact! First lets clear some things up and NOW.Stereo Review is a jokers stereo mag,not even worthy of being used as TP.I wasted several dollars to buy one time this TP with "reviews" inside.Guess what GUESS WHAT All I saw is reviews of Bose speakers,Cambridge speakers and cheap garbage Sony and Onkyo low end recievers.Plus a clown answers all of the ignorants questions section! The most insulting part was a Stereo Review where they "reviewed" the Definitive Tech BP3000 speaker and proclaimed them as the best.HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA They probably dont know about the Dynaudio Contour 3.3's,the B&W Nautilus 801's,the Egglestonworks Andra and many speakers like the Klipsch RF7's.What a bunch of clowns! Let me tell you I did compare power amps(I have 9 power amps from $1500 to $13000,all US dollars)and they do NOT sound the same.Even the Celeste 4070 when compared to a 4250 does not sound the same.And at the same volume!Stereo Review should be renamed Cheapo Review.Stereo Review tries to convince the poor suckers who got cheap recievers they can get Krell like power and detail on mid-fi gear.HA HA HA HA LOL cubed And they even go to discredit themselves as far as to compare lamp cord with good quality speaker wire and end up with a "conclusion" LAMP CORD IS ALL YOU NEED! And one of their reviewers is like 99 years old and has two defective hearing aids!LOL He is a serious reviewer,sure he has experience,his hearing aids are not Krell,and clour the sound.How can he give an accurate description of sound?LOL take a guess And I did listen to those Definitive BP3000 tower speakers,the bass is huge(slow,undefined)the midrange is ok and the highs are agressive and lack the finer detail.My Dynaudio Contour 3.3's are so superior(defined,tight bass,uncolored midrange and highs so detailed most could think they listen to electrostatics!).The Def Techs are overyped.Period The Klipsch RF-5 sound better and cost way less,the RF-7 with a RSW15 sub will probably kill the Def.Tech 3000 in a A/B test.And still cost less! HA A good sub for Stereo Review is one that gives the most SPL,they dont even notice most subs are boomy,slow and lack definition.Ha I am amused to see a TP review survive so long. Now Stereophile is a real mag with real audio gear,one thing they lack is Klipsch reviews.The RF-5 and 7 should fit quite well in there.
