  1. I recently sold my perfect khorns with single Belle center (all walnut) AND 3 matching Dean G crossovers + original crossover parts + Crites tweeters + original tweeters for $3,500 to a guy that drove 2.5 hours and removed from my listening room $7K+ is fantasy. If you can get it great.
  2. Ha, I never googled the name/number till now. Just had the coaster tucked away with some of my concert tix. I guess I didn't need to black out the number.
  3. Fun fact at least for me. I was sitting at the bar of a cool restaurant in San Francisco and started talking to the guy next to me about music. He said he was the famous Rock Photographer Jim Marshall. I said I know who you are by name but did not recognize his face. He was with a woman about 1/10th his age (good for him). This was a long time ago and digital cameras had just came out. I asked him if he would take a picture of my wife and I and offered him my digital camera..... . . . . . I'm paraphrasing but he basically told me digital cameras were sh!t but if I called him in the morning he would shoot a picture of me and my wife in his studio on film. HollyCrap I was pretty fire up about that. He grabbed a coaster and gave me his number. I bought him a drink. Chatted a bit more about bands, photography....wife says leave that guy alone. . . . . . Called a few times the next day and even left a couple of messages with my Cell Phone number. He never called me back, I was crushed. Que the sad trombone. At least I got his autograph and a some-what cool story. I'd have loved to have gotten a print of me and the misses to have framed with this.

    Death Clock

Thursday, August 18, 2039 Just under 18 years...that sounds about right.
  5. A pretty solid argument to do neither things in the title.
  6. For sure I got the owl/flying part. That is why I said "I see what you did there". I was guessing at the possibility high to go along with flying. Getting stale at this point. WCircle is still the best all around Chicago lunch experience. Nothing I read by OP seems to make sense. I'll wait for my decoder ring to show up.
  7. I see what you did there. He/She may already be high as well as flying. Very few posts make much sense to me and I read them over and over trying to decipher. I thought maybe Amsterdam was "section" of Chicago or surrounding burbs and I was unaware of it. Seems to me though that the intent of AD/Amsterdam/A-dam is in fact the country many thousands of miles from Chicago. Read original post again, am I the one missing something?
  8. Maybe so but unless you have a private jet at the ready how are you deciding on dining in Chicago vs Amsterdam?
  9. There is only one answer in all of Chicago - Weiner's Circle....but reading the OP I'm unclear if he is from Chicago and visiting either Amsterdam and/or Sao Paulo. https://www.wienerscirclechicago.com/ 2 Char Cheddar dogs and some fries should do the trick. Unless you are in the know then add a Chocolate Shake.
  10. I've had very good luck ripping 1000s of CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays with a Pioneer BDR-XD05S. I'm sure there is a replacement out by now if this is not the current, latest and greatest. It won't do HDR Blu-Rays, not many do. It rips CD very quickly. https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Computer/Computer+Drives/BDR-XD05
  11. Or a tiny pot still....no not that kind of pot.
  12. Yes. Never had it but my gut tells me a bottle will be better than the bourbon. I've never had it so reserving judgment. Not 100% sure but I think I read online somebody else does there distilling so they just repackage other people's hard work.
  13. I've yet to have a single barrel Bourbon, sourmash, rye, etc that I've not liked. Like sound systems at a certain level they all sound "good" some are great, others you jus like more than some
  14. Keeps the mosquitoes away?
  15. My sister and I did a blind WTF tasting. Cracked open the Weller, Taylor and Fitz. We only agreed on #3. Our 1s and 2s were swapped. I was shocked we both liked "W" the least....but still darn good. My winner Col. T, hers Old Fitz. Must be something to Bottled in Bond as both of those are
  16. I got 3 bottles of the Weller 107 in a week. Closest I'll come to hitting the Lotto
  17. @CECAA850 Been busy on my end
  18. @Fasthenk65 I can't help you out in the Klipsch department. While I probably have 10+ pairs I'm using my Lyngdorf 1120 with a pair of non-Klipsch (Wharfedale EVO 4.1) bookshelfs. I'm 2+ weeks into owning the Lyngdorf and really like it. Killer soundstage and separation of instruments. For a 1-box solution I can't believe how great it sounds. I was a bit worried it might be underpowered. It is lacking nothing. With Room Perfect and the different voicing options I think you could make it shine in just about any room. Given the size, price and convenience it should be on the short list of anyone looking for a similar solution.
  19. So the Lyngdorf and lure of Room Perfect got the better of me. I've always been a separates guy but I must say this all in one box is pretty impressive. I'm sure part of it is new gear syndrome but right off the bat this thing impresses. Nice build quality, super easy set up, very good detail, separation of instruments and incredible imaging. All that more impressive when you consider I have two 24" monitors sitting between me and the speakers. The integration with Roon is flawless. The easiest I've ever seen. I bet is was less than a minute after power up that I was listening to my library of FLAC files. With all it features its a bit overkill for my office. I think it would really shine in a common space where music and TV were split and you wanted something less than a frat-house look. HT pass through, dual sub outs, HDMI eARC. This is the kind of impact I was looking for from my KEF active experiment. To say I'm happy with the decision would be an understatement. Hopefully it stays that way and is not just another shiny object (look a squirrel 😁 ). I've been focused on sound, not looks. So, sorry for the mess. Eventually I will get the room sorted beyond just the music end of things. BTW its the small black box below the main monitor's lower left side.

    What I Got Today!

Is still a mess but sound is improving. Impressed with Lyngdorf right off the bat.
