  2. ok so the fuse is blown, (i didnt realize the dynaco even had a fuse)guess i should pay a little more attention. Anyway i bought this as a total rebuilt amp from craig at nos valves anyone have any ideas as to why a fuse would blow? I set the amp up according to craigs reccomendations and have used it for a couple months now. Seems weird that it would now blow the fuse unless something happened inside the amp or a tube developed a problem. Any ideas??? Joe
  3. hello guys i was just setting here listening to some deep purple, and the sound just faded and then stopped looked over the equipment and noticed all the tubes on the amp had went out, everything else is hooked into the same strip and all stayed on so its not the outlet any ideas???????? Joe
  4. this guy is deffinately dealing gry market check his feedback stated that serial#'s are missing Joe
  5. i know what you mean, befor i sold my sporty a cat would have been hung for jumping on her, but i dont think i would let a cat jump on my scalas either (of course i dont like cats anyway) joe
  6. "cat jump to the cornwalls" that would be one hurting cat!!!!! Joe
  7. in his description he says he has 2 pair that a friend helped him stack them and that he will need help taking them down, as these are pick up only i would pay with cash when picked up so could make sure they are what is advertised, if i had the extra dough and time i would have bought them just dont have time for 20 hrs of driving now Joe
  8. 5784165590, this is the ebay sale# 700.00 buy now near buffalo, rochester. birch 1984 models according to the seller these look like nice speakers Joe
  9. =my lascalas are in a room 12 x 16 and i listen to classic rock on vinyl mostly, and i am very happy at almost any volume am using a dynaco st 70 for now with 35 watts per channel i love the scalas with all types of music Joe
  10. if you are looking for a good dedicated cd player, i would suggest you watch for a jolida jd 100 tube out put and beleive me worth every penny. i bought mine off audiogon for 750.00 and i was blown away by build quality, and sound simply amazing. you wont be dissappointed, i have a 15 year old onkyo top of the line setting next to it that i was happy with till i bought the jolida JMHO Joe

  14. the technics are fine in there aera, one of the better tables for industrial use. that said it is a long way from audiophile, not sure it would even be considered entry level audiophile, i would suggest trying to find something like a dual cs 5000. this is a nice table that is dependable as it is servo controlled and belt driven puts out very nice sound, if you arelooking to stick with direct drive i would reccomend one of denon's better tables good luck in your search Joe
  15. there is something to be said for starting small no doubt about that. however i can say that if you love music you will find yourself upgrading continuiosly. so i would also say that if one knows they love the music and can afford to i would suggest buying the best gear available in your price bracket. i personally would love to have the money back lost from trying this and that to get where i am now. and as far as tube goes i wouldnt be afraid to go straight into that if could afford, the new tube gear is basically trouble free and no harder to use than SS. and the vintage gear if bought from the right people is a pain free proposistion also. my first tube amp was a dynaco st 70 and with minimal advice from craig it was a breeze no turning back now JMHO. Joe
  16. mine is also very quiet with a dynaco st 70, if there is noise i have yet to hear it Joe
  17. you are probably right about the actual doctors pay, however i think that most people associate a doctors pay with a hospital bill and i would challange you to justify there charges, i recently read an article where when a hospital buys a piece of equ9ipment for use in surgery that instrument is paid for with the first 6 uses, 6.00 for an asperin and 12.00 for a bandaid with wires hanging off it are figures i was charged personally. it cost 530.00 for my daughter to have 3 stitches in her arm from a dog bite. in and out in less than an hour and this was at a so called not for profit hospital, the general practicioner is not the problem, its the so called specialists, hospitals, and the crooked doctors that want to charge for bogus tests, and require excess visits instead of deal with the problem. doctors and hospitals should be paid the same way as any one else performance based pay fix the problem then get paid misdiagnose and play games to inflate your bottom line you should get nothing. if i were hired to build a house and i built a garage instead i dontt think i would get paid just my opinion Joe
  18. hello the bosch you are looking at is a great set, bosch makes top quality tools, i have a compareable set up porter cable haas the same type set with both bases , i have used it for several decks rounding edges more than a few furniture projects etc... i was going to sell the porter cable to buy the bosch it has some features that are better IMO, and i put bosch ahead of porter cable as far as build quality i wasnt able to get a fair price offer so i kept the porter cable set, the bosch has higher hp rating than the porter and that translates to better performance under heavy use, you will rarely use the plunge base, but it sure is nice to have when you need it, bosch also makes a very nice table you can attach your router to for more control on mouldings and repetative cuts. i do wood work for a living and i wouldnt hesitate to buy the bosch set you asked about if i didnt already have mine Joe
  19. there is a set of dynaco mark 3 on ebay now have 4 hours to go and they are at 400.00 good deal this is the item#5779674378 joe
  20. i dont know about guilty or not guilty as i wasnt there to hear the actual evidence put forth in the court, i do know the parents of these kids should lose custody of there kids jackson was accused of this in the past and it was widely known. and they still let there kids come into contact with him and then want to cry fowl. i will bet any amount they take this to civil court and try to sue as though money would solve the childs pain if they were indeed abused. i would also bet that this whole proceeding was about money, the state and the parents wanted it Joe
  21. i happen to know that craig has a set of mono block dynaco mark 3 he is doing a complete rewwork on as i traded them to him, i heard a pair he rebuilt at garys house and i would find it hard to beleive for the money that they could be beat, craig himself compares them favorably to his vrd's but says that the vrd are of course better in aeras. craig also said he sells the reworked mark 3's in the 1500 range. i would suggest getting hold of craig and at least getting his advice he was more than willing to help me with all my questions Joe
  22. if you are in ca. there is a mitchell gyro deck for 575.00 with grado arm, and ref plat cartridge.(smoking deal), and there is a music hall mmf 7 on now for 550.00 looks like new according to pics Joe
  23. seller emailed me back said the reserve is 450.00, im not sure how to value these. i told the seller he was high on his buy now seemed like a very cordial person by his response he took no offense, to hearing my opinion Joe
  24. two of the best vinyl albums ive heard of late, are dire straits making movies, and dire straits love over gold. i find myself playing these over and over again great toons joe
  25. i thought the seller was a bit of a wack job, with the red surrounds and the 1100.00 price he was looking for on heresy's just a tad above the average retail and he calls them excellent cosmetics but i can see where they have brad nails on the front along the top, and they look as though they havent been wiped down in a decade or so Joe
