  1. Live performance of Badge from the The Cream of Eric Clapton DVD/VHS or LD. Believe the performance was filmed in Hartford Connecticut in 1986. Tim Renwick, now with PF, is playing backup guitar. Awesome, be sure its loud enough so when the bass drum first kicks right in the beginning you feel it.
  2. I believe I notice a difference, but would I get it right on a blind listening comparision? Honestly don't know, but if I kept my eyes closed during the entire listening session I probably would never make the change to either take them off or put the on. And my wife says I never listen.
  3. If you don't mind me asking, what is the price range that AVR300 is in?
  4. Go with the RSW15, my denon is handling the bass management and I cross over set at 60hz, music is awesome, can't tell its there but miss it when you turn it off.
  5. I use the RSW 15 now and I love it. I had used a FSR12 (still have it) in the past and thought it was great, but it could not keep up with the RF7s. If you have not already tried it, changing your placement in the room, would be a cheaper solution and the bass response is 50% sub 50% room anyway. Don't think you will disapointed with the RSW 15 though if you went in that direction.
  6. At least there is not one in the groin.
  7. Don't go back in that lefthand corner of the bar, cause I just lost my cookies there. Ouch, should not drink so much. Happy Saturday morning, I am staggering home.
  8. I have been reburbished a few times and I still don't work so well, though I just won a lot of dough at poker.
  9. Great hair. What will they think of next dual bass, wait that was in Spinal Tap.
  10. When I think refurbished I think why bother. Which one were they thinking of buying? I am unfamiliar with any real highend companies selling refurbished goods Your friend mioght consider a DVD/CD/universal player, the costs have come down so, under 100.00 is common and the performance so "close" in many cases to really great stuff.
  11. Great thread, good story. Michael, very nice room, set up as well as collection of DVD/CDs movies.
  12. Darn Guess I have to wait. Ottscay congrats, I have 11 more to go.
  13. Hi Amy I have seen two pictures or the new Premier series, one from the CES and another that used to appear on the website. One with two horns and another with one. Are they 3 way or 2 way? Please share. Thanks
  14. May be because I am most familiar with it I have never heard live piano sound completely real to me in a close setting, say live blues recording. In a large concert it seems to work better. The ladies in the attachment have been fooled plenty of times.
  15. Was just making a joke and bringing it to light. I could not agree more, its a pathetic attempt attempt to rip people off using your company's name/reputation.
  16. "I wonder if you can get those other speakers in Natural finish?" I think as long as you use very very fine sandpaper and go slowly, you know cause cardboard is good and all but sandpaper can do a number on it, you can get it back down to the original box finish. As Amy questioned " Then why did he list the brand name as Klipsch? I think its because the speaker enclosure is made from a RF5 box.
  17. I also used the pan head screws, the size recommended in the manual. No issues, just make sure you don't screw them into to far and that its in a stud, might take two or tries to get the speaker to sit flush on the wall and then get it wired up as well. I used those rubber mounts on the back so that was resting against the drywall.
  18. It would be so nice to come home on a Friday after work, fix a vodka tonic or three and slip in Claptons DVD One More Car One More Rider and tune it up to about 95dBs. Wonder what other equipment they are using. Well in another life.
  19. "note these speakers weight about 40 pounds a piece" what are they made of cardboard??? an RF-7 weighs 90 lbs.... ---------------- But it's corrugated cardboard, which has some very fine acoustic properties. What I like the best is, the owner is not sure who makes them, but dont worry they come with a full warranty.
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=61378&item=5753495570&rd=1 This one is worth a look. They are not sure what make they are but brought 3 sets of them and want to pass the savings on to you, perhaps they are better than Klipsch Think they are BIC?
  21. I sense a conflict of interest in this post.
  22. Well it was the lamp. A repairman from Unlimited Appliance out of Reading replaced it under warranty. He asked me if I brought the extended warranty via BB and I did. I know that is a whole other topic. Believe me I usually dont but since the DLP technology is new I took the bait. It was $240.00 to add 3 years to the Samsung warranty, so lamps are included for that time. Of course BB says its 4 years of coverage, but the first year is covered by Samsung. Repair guy thought that was actually a good idea in that the lamps cost $400.00 a pop, not the $200.00 that BB salesman told me when I asked the price as I was buying the set. Picture still looks great.

  24. Let me preface this by saying I dont own that model, I friend of mine has Yamaha with a similar or the same feature. The wording is a little counter intuitive on the menu, believe you want to set it to Max (for no compression) for the full dynamic range, which should be the same as an off button and preserve the original soundtrack with no compression. Believe the MIN, STD and MAX refers to the volume which you intend to listen to movie on, not the dynamic range compression. A setting of MIN, meaning you listening at a lower volume would compress the dynamic range the most.
