  1. I'll be happy to. #1 Gym Elementary school with traditional wood-floor basketball court with a stage for music and "drama" performance at the end. Folding chairs are set up on the court floor to watch the performances. Bleachers remain folded. Portability was desired to serve additional rooms or venues. In this case, we used a pair of KP-4000 woofers with KP-3002 on poles on top of the woofers. The woofers coupled nicely with the floor for great low end and the poles raised the HF cabs to just about the right height for elementary kids standing on the stage. The parents were shocked how good the Klipsch speakers sounded. They said they could never understand what the kids or teachers were saying before the Klipsch arrived. Several families headed for the local Klipsch dealer for home systems. #2 Gym Middle School gym with traditional wood-floor basketball court. No built-in stage. Portable stage sections and riser are used near center court and opposite the bleachers. The bleachers are only on one side of the court. Speakers needed to be flown. I will not feel comfortable flying a home-use cabinet overhead. I will use only cabinets designed for flying with all the internal steel bracing. In this case, we flew Ki-362's overhead. #3 Gym Multi-purpose basketball court/gym in a church. Very thin commercial carpet is used for the basketball court and to reduce acoustic reflectivity. Folding chairs are used for the audience with portable stage sections and risers. In this case, we use KP-682 subs on their side with 2 Ki-362's on stands on each side of the stage. This room is wide and shallow. Coverage and intelligibility is great with this portable system. #4 Multi-purpose This facility originally used a portable set like Gym #1. A pair of KP-4000 woofers with a pair of KP-3002 HF mounted on poles on the woofers. THEN, we decided to install a flown system which is, by far, the best of all of these. With Roy's counsel, we flew left and right Ki-362s, PLUS, a center cluster of 2 Ki-362's with a Ki-215 between them. 2 KP-682 subs are built in on the left and right side of the stage/platform. All the speakers are powered with Crown XTi amps and the mix came out absolutely perfectly. Intelligibilty is great with uniform coverage and a nice kick from the bass when desired. Floor covering is thin commercial carpet tiles. There you go. Four systems, two portable, two flown. All Klipsch, all great.
  2. Hi Forte Too, I have done this in two school gyms. I sent you a PM. Please call me and I'll be glad to share my experience. Bill
  3. Ryan, Tim, and I will be there on the motorcycles. Looking forward to it!!!
  4. Don't know, Steve. You'll have to call Roy for an answer.
  5. Here ya go, Steve . . . . . KP-650HF.pdf
  6. Welcome, THXAudio!! That's a fabulous system you have. I have owned nearly every Klipsch speaker made since the early 1970's (used to be a dealer). Until a few years ago, my theater system consisted of K-Horns for L&R, LaScala center, and both Cornwalls and Heresys for side and rear. Then . . . . I heard Jubilees. I ordered a pair of Jubilees. I compared my new Jubilees to my K-horns in my media room of 15+ years. The K-Horns were immediately sold to a friend of mine and a 402 horn and driver were ordered to top a LaScala bass bin for center channel. A KPT-884 was added for effortless deep bass. The difference was/is stunning. Your KPT-8001's are great for side/rear. IMHO, the next step up for you is Jubilees and a 402/K69 HF assembly on top of your Belle LF for center. You will be amazed.
  7. Thanks for putting this all together, Trey!! Ryan, Tim and I plan to ride our cycles down. Look forward to seeing you in Hope!!
  8. Talk to Chris Seymour at http://www.seymourav.com/.
  9. Hank, I have an extra pair of K-700 Heresy horns that I'm not using. I sent you a private message.
  10. Marion, PWK would be proud of you!! Nicely done!!
  11. Hey, I recognize those 362's!! Nice write-up, Michael. You are absolutely correct. That is a dandy setup.
  12. Hey, Richard, About 330 miles north of you in Franklin, IN (south of Indy) someone has posted for sale on ebay a pair of KP-320's with pro speaker stands. These would be much easier for your BIL to use for a small gig, plus you could use them as surround sound for your outdoor setup. Maybe the seller would meet you half way. Or, someone in Indy could pick them up for you, bring them to your place for a big steak dinner in front of the outdoor theater. Better pony-up some gas money too. [] The KP-320s are great speakers. I use two pair of them for small PA gigs. See dpf attached above. http://cgi.ebay.com/klipsch-kp-320-/320607414324?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa5b0e834 KP-320.pdf KP-320.pdf
  13. Hi John, I have owned both KLF-C7 and Academy and spent time comparing the two. My preference is the KLF-C7. The KLF has a more "open" sounding mid and high end. The bass is similar. Between the two, I would choose the KLF for center between K's or Corns. Another option might be a Heresy,if space is available. The Heresy would be my choice over either the KLF or the Academy.
  14. That's great news, Trey!! We'll all come help you build a home theater. What speakers shall we use???[]
  15. Prayers are with you, brother!! I love a little intrigue . . . .

  17. I believe we may have a typo here. The K-48 driver is a 15" driver. The driver in the KPT-484 is an 18" K-49. The K-49 is a 4 ohm, 400 watt woofer and was used by Klipsch in the KPT-484, the KP-480, and the KP-4000.
  18. Take a look at the Klipsch XW-500D. It gets great reviews. I have its baby brother, the XW-300D, for a bedroom system that is a really good sub. http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/xw-500d-reviews/ Vanns.com has a clearance unit for $424.90. http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/clearance/549046486/klipsch-xw-500d-black
  19. Hi Richard, A less expensive way than a rack of DX38 would be with Crown XTi. All the DSP is on the amp. ProAudioMart.com (414-362-9701, talk to Steve) offers "B" units for very friendly prices. They come with full 3-year factory warranty and look like new. XTi-1000 - $350 shipped XTi-2000 - $475 shipped I have purchased several amps from Steve and the service/deal was great.
  20. Evidently not. The NAD looks interesting, but it, too, is pricey. If we go with a combo audio/video, I would think we would want Bluray. At some point, DVD format, (lower res) will likely fade away.
  21. Haven't made a decision yet. The Marantz looks interesting. Also looking at this Denon Blu-Ray / receiver combo, but the price is a bit strong for a secondary bedroom setup. I would really like to find slim, attractive design somewhat like the old B&O Beomaster receivers from the 70's. http://www.usa.denon.com/S-5BD_Lit1210.pdf
  22. Sorry, gents, integrated won't work. I need the tuner in the receiver to listen to the occasional football game.
  23. I will appreciate your recommendations for slim-line (short) receivers for use as secondary, bedroom background (low-level) listening. I will have two RB-75s next to a TV in a cabinet with a XW-300 sub. The receiver will also need to drive a pair of in-wall RCW-5s in the bathroom. The target is a slim-line, stereo receiver with a sub out and A/B speakers selection that sounds good. Thanks!!
